dont read this if you dont want the next update spoiled for you:
Spoilers:
a “new” dungeon has been added, the ‘Dark Dregs’. it is a copy of the existing dregs dungeon, but with a different boss, and a somewhat altered interior, along with some nifty little cinematics. it is assigned to the EventDynamic streaming layer, which means it will only be active when FLS turns it on, and can’t be played in the devkit under normal circumstances. i cheesed it tho by changing the streaming layer so i could play it. the dungeon is dark as sin, and requires a torch. there are multiple cauldrons you can light with your torch to lighten it up a bit, as well as wind traps that will blow your torch out. the dungeon has two ‘new’ enemies in it, a ‘dry zombie’ undead enemy, and a modified doel slug. rewards for the dungeon are some new abysmal-themed weapons, your own version of the new cauldron, and a new armor set. here are some spoiler screenies:
note that these things are added to the game files, but since it is an event that will be controlled by FLS, i have no idea when they will actually be available to acquire through normal play. as of right now, the armor & weapons are marked devonly so they can’t even be admin spawned without modifying the properties in the itemtable.
for those that are interested, have a look. for those that aren’t, go ahead and wait for the update.
and a pre-emptive thank you to harperson for the frowny face emote
well, from what i can see most of the rest of the update seems centered around fixing some stuff for modders (character creation parameters now exposed so we wont be overwriting each other’s eyelashes and skin colors and suchlike)
honestly, i think this new content was already half finished for age of heroes and they just polished it up. the new meshes and all that are marked with a3c1 (age of heroes chapter 1) which leads me to believe this has all been in the pipeline for a while now.
i cant say what else may be fixed, as i dont mod systems, i only make pve stuff for my map so i dont really look at the changes that would be seen by players as ‘bugfixes’
just checked, and corsairs on siptah can finally be knocked out again, so there is a fix for ya
Does “harperson” actually exist. I’ve never seen a post from this person. Only the “frowny face” emote on many posts. I suspect a bot.
If you are real @harperson, please drop in and say hello to explain your need to post “frowny face” emotes.
Oh, I am real alright. I don’t normally dance to another person’s song, but in this case I will lace up my dancing shoes to prove that not only do I exist (and therefore not a bot), but that I read EVERY post here as I am still invested in this game.
Now, onto an explanation… My reasons are myriad, and have been discussed in these very forums on several occasions. At first, I tried to help and offer advice to those newly arrived within the confines of this here sanctuary, and because of my sometimes forthright approach, I was lambasted by those ‘more regular’ contributors. They know who they are. I tried fighting their bullying ways and their sardonic comments but didn’t have the energy to continue so faded away into the daily routine of a ‘frowny face’ (it being the most negative response one could give), only to raise my head from the parapet of despair on a few occasions per year (this being one of them).
Rest assured, if you do see a ‘frowny face’ from me, it doesn’t mean that I oppose your point of view, or that I think the subject is trivial, just that I am saddened that someone feels the need to vent, to question, to raise concern, here in these forums, especially given the fact that this game is in a state of repair and not one of evolving, despite 8 years of online presence.
yes, as you see harperson does indeed exist.
i am just salty because i once did a showcase of my map mod, ghosts of the cataclysm, and he chose to frownie-face it.
i dont forgive and i dont forget.
no clue if any of that will change before it goes live. i dont even know for sure if this stuff is gonna make it into the next update or not, since they didnt mention it in the dev blog that was recently put out
