Am unable to find the meteorites on this one account on game-pass right now. Before as I was leveling using a iron pick, now star medal on the private server. Playing on Exiles map. private server and solo game, dedicated server. I could see the meteor where the other player could not. Also, on a retail version.
On steam account can find and mine.
It’s not related to the game edition.
This is just how star metal is 
It’s configured in a way that favors long running servers and you have to wait at least half an hour in the meteor shower zone on single player to even get a chance for it… then another half an hour if it doesn’t spawn… etc… until you get one.
Also, you need at least a tier 4 tool or higher to mine it after you blow up the outer shell with explosives. So hardened steel pick minimum (acheronian, iron etc. won’t work)
As for getting a meteor shower in single player / private server… if you want you can just install my mod, which dynamically speeds up wait times when the map doesn’t have any nodes 
I’m pretty sure there’s another condition as well. Somebody has to be somewhere in or near the region that the meteors spawn in order for the timer to start counting down.
This is why in single player you can play for several hours and still not have any meteors if you’ve never been around that northwest region.
In any event, another possible solution is to give yourself admin privileges and just spawn a couple stacks of star metal ore in your inventory every so often. It feels like cheating, but given the necessity of star metal and the mechanical quirks of actually getting some to spawn in single player, it’s pretty much your only practical option if you for whatever reason don’t want to or can’t use mods.
That is only relevant to single-player, which is why I mentioned it above
On a dedicated server meteor showers will happen whether anyone is there or not. In singleplayer though the actors don’t get created until you get in range that spawn the showers and the first check (75% chance) is in half an hour… so you literally have to sit there in the north at least that much and then run to the nodes as they fall, otherwise if they fall out of range they despawn too 
Hello you :-). I knew about the 1/2 hr., or longer wait. Guess I am just use to it being somewhere I can find it easily. The spawns have changed so I am on the other side of the spawn area now. I went as far as setting up a private server. Plus, now a dedicated server. It is now falling. I have a chest stacked (Raw and bars) full now.
It was the tool I was using a iron pick. 
I have not tried the solo server yet.
I really don’t use to many mods. If any at all. Makes my mind to lazy.

normally I don’t have problems with it spawning. I use admin privileges; I love to fly around: innocent: spawning a few stacks takes the fun out of finding the meteors. I have learned when everything is right it will fall. what all the conditions are I am still working on that one. Thinking the pick, level, and time spent in the area.
NO, they can’t de-spawn that is not allowed lol
convince them to stay lol (that’s only in single player though, on a dedicated server they stay for up to ~4 hours)
They don’t have fixed spawns There is an invisible object high up in the sky that spawns them and shoots them down in clusters… their trajectory is slightly randomized, but they stick somewhat together and fly towards a similar zone.
Then the projectiles will trace a line to the landscape and spawn there so while the rough general zones tend to repeat the individual spawns change.
What does not help is they no longer have smoke trails
I do miss the smoke trails.
I added them back too in that mod I linked Though you’re on console so that won’t help you much.
What DOES help though is detect resources. Now that spell does not require any reagents and it’s an indefinite duration toggle on / off spell. So you can just turn it on and see them from miles away
no I am not, I am on a pc I just clicked on game pass by mistake for a free month.
We have actually stayed away from Sorcery other than Golums and the transmog table since it came out and continued kicking us off the server will have to get back into it again

You can still use mods on gamepass btw in case you want to install it, there’s a guide for it in my discord on how to enable the mods menu or just load them manually, link is on the mod page.
ah, I don’t use Discord that much. Not sure how I would link that to my tablet. I am thinking another dedicated server for the game pass account.
Something despawns to restart the timers to respawn again.
Star metal ores cover a huge area and near the obelisk is just a humiliating small part of the spawn areas. There for if you wish to seek for these ores you better start your journey from the mount of the dead, take the path to Ymir religion giant and continue from the frozen peak ti walk to the frost keep. Look always on the sides of the mountain line, this area is always rewarding! Use hardened steel and higher tier tools, you cannot harvest star metal with low tier tools anymore.
And you must love despawns not hate them 
. If we wont have despawns we won’t have respawns, so in order to find a named crafter you should travel the whole map and raid all the camps until you’ll get one. So despawns are good trust me
Fyi I been playing for 2 years now. Just this new toon was having problems. Odd you mention Thralls as I was looking to see what I had on this save I have been rebuilding. I do have my crafters, yet my fighters are missing. Most of my thralls are named 
I am similar. I here recently allowed myself to categorically deny the benefits of sorcery. Now I have to admit that I was wrong. There are some very useful things.
If you really need star metal without rgn and mountain risk go to the mount if the dead camp and capture all the lvl3 fighters and above. Use the tier 3 fighters for purge causalities and keep the named (berserkers - Dalinsia) and dismantle their weapons to gain star metal.
Worth however to mention that even if i never find issues to find star metal ores both on line and single player, at my last challenge i don’t remember seeing any ores now that you mention it and i spend a lot of time killing giants for hardened steel weapons and tools.
After the Livestream i will jump in on single player to see if there’s actually a problem. Give me a few hours and i 'll reply my friend
