Statue of Refreshment Decay and UI

Statues of Refreshment are decaying despite being in use all the time. The log explicitly say they are being “abandoned”.

They don’t show the HUD pop-up that displays the building name and owner, nor can they be inspected with a repair hammer.

Confirmed by multiple players, both on server 1823 and in single-player mode.


Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Place a Statue of Refreshment.
  2. Stand in front of it and observe the lack of pop-up.
  3. Wield a repair hammer.
  4. Stand in front of the statue and observe the lack of information.
  5. Log in every day for 8 days and use it at least once a day. At the end, it might still decay.

Is that statue connected to the main base by a foundation or is it separated?

have same thing

i place few statues in my base and statues which i placed not on foundation (about 6-10 blocks from my house) are decayed after week

It’s on the Aquilonian foundations, inside a massive base that has no unconnected bits.

It seems these are two separate bugs I reported as one. Statues of Refreshment are the only ones without the HUD popup, but they’re not the only ones randomly decaying.

I saw a log message today about a table (“Table - Rectangle (Variation)”) that was entering abandoned state, despite being in a spot where I spend a lot of time (one of my storage rooms). When I made the rounds of the storage rooms and inspected all the tables with a repair hammer, all of them showed the max decay time (168 hours). I didn’t want to risk it, so I picked them up and placed them down again, but this definitely should not be happening.

I’ve also seen the same as you - item in middle of base saying it will go into decay and abandonment. I reported it with screenshots to Funcom a while back.

To save you a bit of frustration with having to pick up and replace multiple items you can decrease the range of detection so it will screen only the things very close to you Eg 10. This is how I narrowed down which item the event log says is decayed but the repair hammer says is at 168 hours.
So far none of those have decayed but I don’t trust it as in the past a carpet did and destroyed an incense pot on top of it… annoying to replace as I had to pick up the table and several items on it before I could replace the carpet.

yeah our timers are not resetting EVEN if you pick them up and put them back, hammer doesn’t work. I can’t tell you how much stuff disappeared on us stating for many the status was abandoned inspite of us being online, being in all buildings, etc- this is just flat out buggy.

Yes we had a purge on Sunday at a different location. In fact, I had my body and all of my belongings disappear yesterday. I died a long ways from any transport and running with no armor/weapons,etc it too me a little bit to get there. But never logged off. Checked the event log looking for what happened to the pet I had with me and see that everything on my body listed as decayed.

Is this how Funcom keeps the numbers of users down? They introduce such BS bugs that people quit over. No skin off their nose -they got the money for us buying the game. fewer users to support. fewer official servers to stand up.

I think the carpets are one of the trickiest items in game for that.
Since i saw a stool poofin in front of me i just had placed a few minutes before, i avoid place all what is bit valuable to me on them. They are looking nice, but i don’t trust them. :sweat_smile:

While the decay-system is important on populated servers, it’s really hateful when such issues happen.

I just checked the log today and now there’s a shelf that’s supposed to be abandoned. I am definitely not replacing all 51 shelves and the chests that rest on them. I’ve coped with the disgraceful lack of quality in this game long enough. If I start losing chests of crafting materials because of this, I’m suddenly gonna find myself with a lot more free time, because I sure as hell won’t be playing this anymore.

I have additional information that I hope the devs and QA might find useful.

First, the shelf that was supposed to have been abandoned has not decayed, because all my stuff is still where it was supposed to be.

Second, now I have a nonsensical line in my event log (emphasis mine): “Date: 2019.05.02-06.50.05. Event: Shelf owned by Voidbringers has changed decay state to normal. Will abandon at 2019.05.01-17.34.08.”

Basically, the log is saying that a placeable “will be” abandoned in the past.

I know what happend here, they inserted anew thing you cannot have two statues to close to eachother.

I had one outside, 2 blocks in behind doors another one for safety.

My one inside decayed.

When i tried replacing it i got the message to close to same type. So now u can have 2 I think, 5/ 6 blocks apart.

You’re experiencing a bug that was introduced a month or so ago that the developers have so far failed to acknowledge or fix.

It’s like this. If you put a placeable on top of another placeable then it has a chance to enter into abandoned status, no matter how connected it is to your base.

This will effect anything on top of a carpet. And it will effect anything with a decoration item on top of it.
For example:
Put a wooden bowl on top of a wheel of pain, wheel of pain can now bug-decay.
Put a candle on your statue of refreshment, statue can now bug-decay.
Put a skull on top of a wooden shelf, shelf can now bug-decay.
Put a chair on top of a carpet, carpet can now bug-decay.

It’s not that. I was able to replace it without any problems. Like I said, it’s a massive base :wink:

Yeah, that is consistent with the majority of the cases I’ve seen. Not the statue of the refreshment, that one didn’t have anything on top and it was on foundations. So it might be more than one bug at work.
