Strange light effects

Game mode: Online official #6057
Type of issue: Other
Server type: PvE
Region: EC
Mods?: No

Bug Description:

A strange light effect happening all of a sudden - screen is flooded with some color. Once it was magenta, now it’s blue. Once it was on the shore now it’s in my own base. It begins from one corner of the screen and progresses quickly as I move camera or press any key.

Expected Behavior:

No flooding of course.

Installed Mods:

No mods, it’s an Official server.

Steps to Reproduce:

I don’t know how to reproduce it. It looks totally random. There’ve been such bug long ago, at the very early access of the Isle of Siptah (color was always black), then it stopped but now it’s back again. I have Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 with driver version 466.47 (fresh driver as far as I know) and Windows 10 Pro with regular updates. I have to restart game client to get rid of this color.

Has happened to me too, once. Came on for a minute or so, then disappeared never to be seen again. I didn’t report it since i figured it was hopeless to troubleshoot a bug like this…

The size of the lower blocky portions is 16x16. Might be a a clue for an expert:

This one was a bit special, with most of the player and horse unaffected:

Happened in the floodlands:

System: Windows 10, Geforce GTX 1650

Awww, i’m bit scared that this may be related driectly to your gpu.
Would realy check drivers, windows updates to of course.

But i wouldn’t like that at all. Hope it’s just a driver issue.

My OS and GPU drivers update automatically. Maybe it’s some bug in new NVidia drivers I don’t know, but I can do nothing about it :frowning:

Hello @Ko6ka, this seems like an edge case that could be both hardware and driver related, could you try to revert back to the previous GPU driver version to see if the issue persists?

You may find older drivers through the advanced search on Nvidia’s driver page:

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

Additionally, do you have any other Unreal Engine 4 titles you could test with the current up-to-date driver to see if you experience similar issues?
