Stuttering on private and official server Ps5 and Ps4

Game mode: Online private
Type of issue: Bug | Performance
Server type: PvE
Region: EU
Hardware: PS5 and PS4

Bug Description:

Me and a friend startet a fresh private server hostet by GPortal a few days ago. and we experience stuttering and massive FPS drops.
I have footage captured on my PS5 but I can’t post a link to youtube here for any reasons… Game is in performance mode.
h t t p s : / / w w w . y o u t u b e .c o m/watch?v=zAvklofh9tg
My friend has the same experience on PS4.
We did not build much yet. All we have acomplished is seen at 1:20 (a few workbenches and chests inside. 3 Thralls, 1 Pet, 1 Horse)

Solo play works perfectly for each of us.

What we’ve tried:
restart game, private server, console and router multiple times
changed gamemode on the console from Quality to Performance back and forth
GPortal “moved” the server 2 times to differend hardware they said
switched to LAN
tried static Google DNS on the console
tried to go really far away from our base and looked around the map

the massive drops seems to appear more near any kind of foes. as if the game have to load the AI or smth. but could be random

don’t know if relevant but we both bought the DLC packs from year 1 and 2. we don’t own Isle of Siptah.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Start console
  2. Start game
  3. log in to Server
  4. experience lags, stuttering and FPS drops
all shown above in youtube vid

Welcome aboard the Forum. You have to spend some time on the Forum before you can post pictures and videos. That might be the reason system wants to know you are not a bot. Lately my wife and I have issue with characters launching off on both private and official servers

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

After watching the first few seconds of your video, I noticed the server ping (number of milliseconds it takes to send a message to the server) is 99. That’s around 3x higher than I would even consider being acceptable.
Anything around 100 is considered bad, and is barely good enough for browsing let alone gaming.

However there are a few things you can attempt that are not listed in your post.

  • Disconnect all other devices from the internet whilst playing.

  • Update your routers firmware/ replace router.

  • Ensure you are using a LAN cable that meets at least CAT5 specifications.

  • Find a server with lower ping (closer to you).

  • Run a speed test to determine your download speed.

  • If download speed is not as described by ISP, maybe consider changing provider, or upgrading.

Good luck.

P.s. Try 3079 it had 33 ping :slightly_smiling_face:
