SUDO woes... please help

Hey guys =]

I unsubscribed to ToT and SUDO because I was testing which MOD was giving me the twitches. So, when I reinstalled ToT Custom and hence SUDO, I pressed shift-U and typed in a password to set up the mod; it reads “Incorrect password”. This is setting up the mod heh, there was no password. Could someone take a moment and gimme a hand, please? Did the research but everything is ancient and does not work.

I don’t know anything about mods or the specific mods you are talking about, but I will say, that SUDO is a Linux command that mean ‘Super User Do.’ It allows a user to give his command administrative privileges without having to log into the admin account. If there is a mod by that same name, and it is asking for a password, it would likely have to be the password you chose for your admin access on the server (or single player). I shouldn’t have to tell you that giving a mod that kind of access is risky.

The default password for single player (if you haven’t changed it) is left blank, meaning no password. Obviously, the password for a dedicated server will be whatever you set up, but again, I recommend you think twice before giving that password to a mod.

Best of luck.

Thank you kindly for your time and attention.

There is no password on the server, I play Single Player, and leaving the spaces blank on the sudo password set up is not an option, unfortunately.

Tried making a password for the server, then inputting that same password when creating a password on the SUDO set up panel, but kaputtensen =[

Again, I don’t know anything about the SUDO mod. You best bet is to talk to the mod author. I would suggest checking the Steam Workshop for setup instructions or to see if they have a Discord listed.

Already have; stumped, but thank you very much again.

Unsub from all mods

Search for folders named 440900 there should be two,
these are where mod information is stored.
Delete everything in these folders.

Verify file integrity, this must be done or the game will CTD

Now you can resub to the mods, and any information from previous installs should be gone.

This will not effect your progress, because saves are stored either in the ConanSandbox/Saved folder. Or on the server side if you playing on line.

How can this not work, I don’t get it, it was logical; yet it didn’t, I don’t get it, this was the perfect solution… I’m so tired of fussing with this issue, I guess I will have to forego the mod entirely, which makes me sad; I so love creating my cast of characters, it makes a big difference in game immersion. God how I miss Edit Appearance /cry.

This whole SUDO thing needed for the mod makes everything crumble down, I wish it was a stand-alone mod =[ but thank you kindly nonetheless.

P.S. Those 440900 don’t even exist anymore even after installing the mod and crancking up the game. I didn’t use ToT but did tried to input the superpassword. How can this be if the 440900 do not even exist… le sigh.

Well you could always try the mod authors discord.

you’ll find the link at the bottom of this page
SUDO MOD

I did. Turns out the mods are designed for servers, not Single Player, so I am screwed.

This is entirely too much fuss for a mod, but thank you nonetheless. Man how I miss Edit Appearance.

Actually, it’s not just for mods. The game overall works better and has fewer issues on a dedicated server, so if your computer can handle it easily, it’s a much better way to play the game to just start up the server software from the same computer (it’s free)

You can get it here in case you decide to give it a shot

Tanks kindly =]

Ok so you just want to edit the appearance of thralls. You have to install the mod, plus another mod, SUDO, install DB, and now add the program you suggest, and go through another process to set up a server I don’t really want. Compare that to Edit Appearance; simple, self contained, and stable. Again, thanks so much but this is, in my opinion, ridiculously complicated to run one mod. My SP is super stable, no issues so, the idea of setting up a needless server… anyway, all of this is just way too unnecessary for a mod that should simply run. I don’t wish to start an argument, like I said, thank you kindly, but I am going to forego the mod altogether.

That’s perfectly alright! If you don’t want to, nobody is forcing you and I get that it sounds overwhelming, it’s roughly a 5 minute job in practice if you know what you’re doing, that’s why people suggest it so lightly  Ofc it can take much longer if you’re not familiar with it and have to follow the guide or have some issues along the way.

In any case, just to clarify, I was not suggesting it for that mod specifically, but rather the fact that the vanilla game works better on the server… for example knocked out thralls don’t fall underground (which imo. is a big one). If your game crashes for whatever reason the server keeps on going independently, so you can simply log back and continue where you were with all the same NPCs and world state that you had, not to mention you can leave crafting stations running when you log out and they will complete their queued up tasks as long as the server is running in the background… etc. etc. Using that mod you want would’ve just been the cherry on top :joy:
So there are many benefits, usually when I want to play single player, I still do it through a server only I have access to, simply for those reasons.

Then why are you not using that btw? :man_shrugging: If it’s the mod you want and you say it’s stable.

Ermm… been discontinued for a while, and this era broke it?

Ah! So it’s not stable then! I see

I assumed most folk playing the game know this mod; this is still on top of most subscribed mods ever at Steam; I said it was stable when it was working, didn’t say it was stable now.

In any case, thanks for the imput, you have a great day =]

Oh I know of the mod, I remember helping the author with some of their questions back when they made it, but I never personally used it.

You too!
