Having this argument/discussion in one of the Xbox clubs over private servers. Some players wanna take the war to private servers due to all the reporting and dev wipes. Problem is that everybody in the pvp community has some serious trust issues about admin abuse. So I was thinking that maybe could the team add an indicator light or some kind of notification feature to the server settings which would show if anyone on the server had active admin privileges? I’m not sure that would solve the trust issue problem entirely but it couldn’t hurt if players could look in the server settings and see if there is anyone with active admin privileges in the game. Something like this would greatly appreciated.
Its kind of a double edged sword. You’d like to show when people are in or out of admin mode. But at the same time, when someone is potentially cheating or breaking some other rule, you kinda don’t want them to know if you’re in admin mode and watching them.
At the end of the day, you need trust in the server and its admins. Going to private because of how Funcom handles their servers means you do not trust FC admins. If you don’t trust them, then you have to trust one another. If you can’t do that, then multiplayer is going to be rough going forward.
