Suggestion for foundations spamming

I have an Idea, you need a minimum of a square of 4x4 foundations (or a 2 rings circle) to activate land claim. So a real base … and no more lines of foundations.

Something like this.

I’m keen on this. Would you expand more on it? Would it be affected by build tiers? How far does the system detect land claim before it negates foundation spamming? What would the maintenance cost be if they utilize tier 1? tier 2? tier 3?

What loopholes are there in this system?

At this point, I’m throwing pasta at the wall and seeing what sticks.

I do not know how it can be implemented in the game, but may be :

  • A foundation land claim is active only starting from a square of 2 x 2 and if there is others attached foundations around it.

This is the minimum build to generate land claim.

So no problem for a real base, or wheel, or map, but it will reduce foundation spam, FFFFFFFFF will not work anymore!

The same with circles.

Yes having to build something of substance might slow spamming down in some cases. The real griefers probably not so much.

So, in a nutshell, let’s make foundation spam thicker?

It’s kinda like many anti-piracy measures: they cause problems for people who don’t pirate things, without actually stopping piracy.

Yes, I prefer having to put a little more foundations on my base to get land claim and having a clean and faster server.
The same for thralls and animals, we must have a limit. Else someone will have 500 of them (already see this on officials).
We must have some rules like in real life. We have to make a little effort to follow them, and we can live in peace.
It is not possible to let people do what they want, or we need a real admin for each server.

I’m not arguing against having some rules or limits. I’m criticizing your specific solution because it has more potential to harm the innocent than stop the guilty.

So now walls around bases will despawn because their only 1 foundation wide?

In PvP land claim is a legitimate way to stop people from building trebuchets close enough to attack.

I think your idea has had very little thought put into it.

No in PVP you can not artificial land claim to avoid trebuchets, else you land claim the entire map!

This is incorrect, a treb can fire just past render distance not across the entire map. If a clan build walls around their base at the beginning of render distance an enemy clan cannot build close enough to see what they are shooting at. This is common practise for competitive PvP clans.

I don’t think this would decrease landclaim, it would just make it more expensive. I have seen and had bases that had fully claimed areas around them. And by fully I mean your

all out of t3 foundations with rooftopintersections on top. And those bases are what really makes a server lag
