T3/T4 thrall can craft all gear without knowledge

If you have a thrall that can craft exceptional or flawless gear, you can command then to craft those weapons even if you don;t have have the needed knowledge/feat.

for example: a “nordheimer blacksmith III” can craft “exceptional hardend steel greatsword” even if i don’t have unlocked the “hardend steel greatsword”

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

1. get a tier3 or 4 blacksmith
2. get the needed materials (from a clan mate or donation)
3. craft exceptional/flawless weapons

This has been brought up a lot. My guess is its a feature at this point.

I always thought it is a feature, afterall that’s what you get thalls for, to get knowledge you don’t have or won’t be able to acquire.

I totally agree. When I started over and knew better, I quickly searched out T3 thralls. At low levels this can be difficult, but it’s worth the treasure trove of items you gain access to.

Agree, can be very handy, and i love hardened steel anyway. Easy to repair and all.

But yes, i remember a discussion where i asked myself about that, and i was told that i was a feature. I don’t remember now the exact post and tread about. But since i still it as feature, and i’m still impatiently wating the moment i can catch the thrall making my hardened weapons. Still an important step. Once you know where to get one, it becomes a habitual run.

Absolutely. A hardened steel axe and spear make a low level toon a lot more powerful.
