Well that is kind of a shame, I will likely only use this feature but a handful of times. Although…I just had a rather fiendish idea…
I am curious CodeMage, do you or for that matter anyone else happen to know if Bedrolls produce a small amount of landclaim around them or not? Because if they do, in my Singleplayer game at least, I should be able to put one down in at least some of the dungeons and retrieve my thralls from peril.
Yep, I think I understand its intended purpose now.
if anything ill personally mod it to allow this because there are places in the world where thrall will fall through the world and then there is no way to retrieve them
This looks amazing guys keep up the hood work with the thrall patches hopefully the game should be rebalanced soon too with the resources and maybe we might get new weapons and armour then maybe a dungeon who knows what happens next hopefully you guys gonna wait till u know for sure the map expansion works before releasing it to be honest keep the priority at the thralls and the resources before worrying about the map
Okay, so I tested that, as promised. It turns out that a bedroll doesn’t allow you to summon a follower. You have to have an actual claim and bedrolls don’t give you any.
I think the mechanic works like this
If you are on you land claim, you can rescue any thrall.
If you are not on your land claim, you cannot rescue thrall.
Which means if i am in my base, i can rescue the thrall from the dungeon, sans gear and anything else on it.
Edit:
PS, if my memory serves me correctly, if a player (SP or Server) is not around, then the AI turns off, so your thrall is safe until it returns home (@15 minutes).
they set it up to answer the question “If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is around, does it make a sound?” by just saying the tree doesn’t fall in the woods if no one is around.
I will try and confirm after work. not planning on playing today (FRIDAY!!! BEER DAY), but this test should be doable in a few minutes.
Maybe they can eventually get around to providing very useful minion commands, like “move out of that doorway, I’m about to be eviscerated in here, you ignoramus”
I just saw this issue brought up somewhere else and I think it would be nice to have a move out of the way option as well. But in the mean time just use the heavy strike with a katana to get past them.
