Testlive Update (26.11.2020) - Update 2.2: Bug fixing, stamina and shield overhauls!

@dorpie i like the idea of it having a stamina cost while doing stuff and i agree with your thoughts on the armor messing with regen

Its called balance dude… Realism has nothing to do with it. The reality is those items rendered so many things useless. It was overpowered as hell. This is a survival game, that requires materials to build and repair as a core aspect of the game. Those armor pieces literally removes those aspects.

The game is a survival sandbox with a heavy pvp focus. Idk what your expecting here, but maybe this is the wrong game for you.

‘Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.’

No - the game is a survival sandbox with multiple game modes, one of which happens to be PVP. It does not have ‘heavy PVP focus’, nor should it - the game is sold with multiple game modes and all game modes should be supported. Right now a significant portion of that support is being focused on resolving various exploits and related issues that plague PVP - that will not always be the case, nor should it be, other updates will focus more on other game modes.

Yeah the game has pve sure, but that doesn’t mean the game doesn’t have a heavy pvp focus. The game was designed with pvp in mind as a main element.

According to who? Please provide some actual evidence if you want to claim that PVP is somehow more important than other game modes.

I’d say that actually should be pretty non-controversial - I can’t think of a single time there’s been a significant, intentional gameplay change that was PvE-driven that negatively impacted the PvP experience - but the number of PvP-focused changes that negatively affected PvE are at this point too numerous to count. It may not be a desirable state of affairs (I’m a PvE-only player, so I assure you I don’t like it), but PvP has always been in the driver’s seat as far as mechanics are concerned - if there’s been a choice between keeping PvE enjoyable and making PvP “more balanced”, PvP wins every time.

You have to go back to the early release period, but yes. As I understand it, the PvE mode was an afterthought. This game was originally intended to be something like Conan + Rust.

I have no documentation to back up this assertion though.

The changes to stamina seem fine. Combat with heavy, medium and light definitely feel different now. Not hugely different, but different. I do wish that sprinting and climbing consumed more stamina the more you were encumbered, but I understand why you chose to unify stamina behavior rather than create and maintain separate systems for different types of actions.

I can confirm that I appreciate the feedback, in whatever form he decides to use. Being distracted with other projects it gives me insight into what was fixed.

@helium3, thanks for the testing and reporting

Ok now fix the healing system it’s almost non existent and recipes are Completely useless , horses are still way to op. thralls still need a lil bit less damage, I suggest either you do less damage and keep bleed or keep damage with no bleed or horses, and the crafting stations need to be a bit smaller a lot of the base spots are now completely useless so where is there a place to build now? In the open? Just to have furnaces , you guys don’t think about the only popping community which is pvp, I feel like pve and pve-c should be getting to know the game then you go to pvp for the real conan experience and I think it’s time you make the game free and make money off dlcs/ better marketing attract new players game is super dead cause of your ego. No ones gonna pay for this game sorry to break it to you @Ignasi @Hugo

Hah hah. Yeah. Some people here are wound just a little too tight. I’m really glad that Funcom is actually handling this patch the way software releases should be. Hopefully it’s a permanent change and not just a one off.

That’s good news dude! Thanks!

Yeah. Even if you get duplicates, it at least creates a trade economy, esp PVE. something the game sorely misses in its “economy” tbh.
