Testlive Update (26.11.2020) - Update 2.2: Bug fixing, stamina and shield overhauls!

I’m sorry but I don’t like all these changes. You are ruining the whole game. Do you want to make the game more alive? Instead of these changes, remove the mounts. It’s all too simple now, a player arrives with the mount and you never stop him. And now nerf the only good weapons left. Think about fixing bugs, or taking action against those who use cheats. It is not possible that every time I have to lose everything due to a cheater. Ok, then it gets banned, but in the meantime I lost weeks of play. And every time I find myself having to start from scratch. You also took away the sense of buying dlc by modifying the armor. And then you wonder why people like me don’t spend more money on this game. You only make it worse, you force us to download a map that we don’t want to buy. I’m definitely not going to spend any more money on funcom products, and rest assured that a lot of people think like me. If you want to make some money again, start protecting legit players, and bringing the game back to life. Or shut down everything you do first.

True.

Funcom thinks differently though.

I do not understand their decisions, not even a SINGLE one…it seems to me that with Siptah we lost more content then we have received.

Gods! That’s a lot of update.

I do wish that any ‘magic’ items/weapons that cause other weapons/armour to repair should be 100% on a swapping damage basis. If the magical Nemedian Helm or Godbreaker stuff fixes 100 damage for an item, it takes on a/more of a percentage of that damage. Once the magical repair item loses all its hit-points it either cannot be repaired, or takes x2 or more Legend repair kits to repair - or some unique paste that is made up of Eldarium+Greater ???+Corrupted Stone+Alchemical Base+some other legend item?

@Funcom

“We’ve introduced the exhausted state which will replace the old and grey out of stamina state.”

I was super excited about this change. Logged into testlive, it seems… maybe toned down, but not where it needs to be. (Grey = Gone totally.)

Everything else in the notes seems nice.

While you are on the topic. Please totally remove the grey out state connected to zero stamina. I know this is a “warning”, or some sort of negative effect to “encourage” players to be cautious with their stamina… But people have a huge, bright yellow bar for that. Please stop letting this “function” completely ruin long swims that would otherwise be very beautiful. Do you know how ugly water is when you have a breathing mask/potion and spend any length of time collecting vines, clams, or opening treasure chests?

This game is built around looking good. Why do you have a function that turns your game ugly, sometimes for minutes on end (swimming)… or periodically but, often (gathering/sprinting)… This could be done with a slow pulse around the screen edge, a small auditory cue… both even.

Please, completely remove the grey out feature. It’s an UGLY design in your BEAUTIFUL game. They don’t work well together, change it, do something. WHILE IT HAS YOUR ATTENTION! PLEASE!

And to the Funcom Artists/designers in the room, speak up about it! Don’t let your silly boss make another self defeating decision that ./mangles your hard work! Tell them it’s a bad feature, it needs to go, and that you have a solution that can replace it!

YOU MADE A BEAUTIFUL GAME! PLEASE LET IT STAY BEAUTIFUL, ALL THE TIME! THERE IS NO ROOM FOR UGLY IN CONAN EXILES!

That worked good with last testlive patch. They ignored a lot if stuff that got reported and still threw it out like nothing.

Slightly odd comment on patch notes that talk about a couple of hundred bug and exploit fixes…

No. There are other ways to fix the mount problem in PVP without having to remove things. Changes to stamina, changes to damage from horseback, changes to hit boxes, changes to saddles, specific counters etc. There are many possible ways to provide the necessary balance without removing mounts just because they don’t work currently in PVP (or, because they work too well…) - the following thread has quite a thorough discussion of possible ideas (little consensus admittedly, but that just shows how complicated the problem actually is, and that not everyone feels the same) -

If this is supposed to be the “PVP” update im pretty sure u shooting urself in the foot with not doing anything about the mounts. If you really want a good PVP game, why u dont ask known good PVP players and take their suggestions seriously?

There is a lot of good experienced PVPers that gladly would help and tell what’s needed to make the game have a better PVP experience.

I dont understand that u at FC dont seem to understand that if it’s not broken u dont need to fix it. And also these things that are broken are not getting some fix at all.

Horses been out for 1 year now, and nothing big have happen to make the game balanced around them. Please wake up.

Hey Krucifear,

I’ve answered your question in the Modding Discord. See the general channel.

Thing is they dont play PVP themselfes. If they play their own game they play PVE or RP. So they are not experienced in PVP.

I can promise u that if I fought the whole FCteam they would have decided to nerf all about the good stuffs in PVP.

Thanks for the feedback on these two changes. We use the public test servers as a way to evaluate and test changes.
We will take the feedback into consideration and evaluate if any changes are required

No. Not really…should we remember how the 2.1 patch was released to live?

Do you really? From what happend since Siptah you kinda forced all These changes upon us.

Now imagine how Mr HackerDestroyer3000 is feeling right now, reading this patch. “I FIXED CONAN EXILES”

I tried it on my own private server and a friend tried the same on his private server.
I wanted to make it that way, that only the contents of the inventory were dropped (backpack), not the shortcutbar or the armor, but whatever combination of switching these settings on or off, ALL was dropped or NOTHING. Thus I can say that these settings did/do not work properly.

Were you using mods? I am playing on a Server which Drops the inventory but keeps whatever you have on your shortcutbar. From consumable to weapons to thralls. Never Had issues with These 2 Settings. If it does not work as its supposed(IF) to, does that mean they have to remove the Settings? Those Settings were very good for players which eventually lost their hard farmed stuff, following scenarios happend to me:

  • stucked in the mesh
  • Stucked inside animals…especially rhinos or any other large animal
  • diese Cause of the bugged Temperature system, both ways

Surely i can point to another handfull of scenarios where those 2 Settings were NOT
OBSOLETE!

Would have been cool to understand why These Settings were removed instead of a …“they were obsolete”…

We tried it on both modded and unmodded.

You still have the DropEquipmentOnDeath setting.

Hey @Coty

These settings have not been functional since early stages of the game. They have also been reported as such a few times over the years (@Starwalker provides a bit of insight in regards of the current functionality of these settings) . This is why they have been removed from the game as there are no plans to make them a feature again since their early implementation, thus being obsolete settings.

I’m not understanding the building upgrades system does this mean that a t1 sandstone can be upgrades to a t3 while keeping its look as you said downgrade to same peice of type but the dlc have type not available to base game which would be :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::ok_hand: but then would t3 crafting be required lvl be reduced for dlc

I’m honestly curious if there will ever be any mention of work being done to fix the issues with FLS where it completely tanks network connectivity. Everyone seems to be completely fine ignoring this issue that has been plaguing players for literal months.

I mean, you guys even said that BattleEye gave you a heads up on what the issue was. However there has not been a single mention of it in any of the patch notes, and it is plaguing systems to an increasing degree since September.

It’s so bad that many players are actively trying to get refunds, but they can’t because everyone is well past the window for something like that. We’re beginning to reach territory where clients are going to start getting legal entities evolved, regardless of the wording in the EULA that basically absolves you of any fault.
