The ability to upgrade tier 1 to tier 3

Tier 1 to tier 2. Tier 2 to tier 3. Upgrade is different than full replacement.

You still haven’t explained how “upgrade from T1 to T2” is different from “replacing T1 with T2 using existing gameplay mechanics”.

I’m trying to figure that as well.

If it costs the same, maybe they are trying to say “whack it with and it pulls the materials from your inventory and directly converts it into the proper piece based on hammer”

But god, who wants that many freaking hammers to have to deal with? The Artisan Tables are a disaster enough already.

That many hammers offers a solution to a future glitch/bug. Resources of t3= building of t3.

I mean, it’s Bryan. “I want the game to be exactly how I envision it, everyone and everything else be damned” is kinda the theme here :stuck_out_tongue:

See what I mean? What glitch/bug? Nobody knows. And the question will only get an incomprehensible mumble of an answer.

There isn’t an explanation, there almost never is with Bryan. He simply wants to tweak the game to his liking and all others be damned. I still think my take on his idea sounds decent, but certainly not a change that’s worth writing home about.

Wait. It’s not the Bryan that used to post asking for…undead players, super broken necromancy, vastly overpowered stuff? Also some werewolf stuff, iirc.

One and the same, the inimitable Lich Bryan Skull. Although this new incarnation insists that it’s not Bryan, but his girlfriend, or something like that.

Ok let me slow it down for you. Resources in your inventory with the right hammer would allow you to make the building pieces. Each tier has a hammer. There a lot of t3 building designs due to dlc. So naturally a lot of hammers.

Upgrading allows you to replace that tier to the next tier level.

The reason to have many hammers allows for repairs without upgrading the tier.

Upgrading requires 50% of the total resources cost. You don’t get resources back when upgrading.

His girlfriend…named BallsofSteel?

But yeah, I remember. xD

It just keeps sounding worse. Now we are up to 1 set of hammers to repair, plus 1 set to upgrade to different types.

I still believe both are troll accounts of Jens lol.

Of course it does. See, it took me a while to figure this out, but it’s Bryan’s MO: keep trolling people into replying so that the topic remains open and Bryan can feel good about it. And yes, it’s actually trolling, because that’s the only word that fits when you’re facing someone who doesn’t care if what they wrote has any sense or is in any way consistent with what they wrote before, as long as you keep engaging with them.

If you don’t believe me, you can go look at the thread about “offensive sorcery”, where Bryan asks for magic that will allow players to “summon hell to Earth”, then later claims it’s not supposed to be anything flashier than creating quicksand to slow down players, then later asks for the ability to “make the volcano erupt and burn my enemies alive”. :man_shrugging:

I occasionally indulge him because this particular brand of trolling can be a welcome respite from other discussions. It’s not quite as toxic as these forums can get :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If I remember correctly, he was the one posting stuff about being an actual undead lord or the like. Going full on RP character as his real life self, or something like that.

Can we please try to forget who the person is?

In any case, with 3.0 this thread is moot. You can blow up an existing T1 building piece and get 100 % of the resources back. No need to juggle with a Bat-belt full of different hammers. All you need is the one and only official A.C.M.E. construction hammer.

Praemonitus praemunitus

To be fair, it was moot right from the start. Even before 3.0, there was a wide range of ways to build and upgrade, and you could pay the cost you were comfortable with. There was even a journey step that you could get by upgrading.

After the last post or two, I think I understand. (Should I be afraid?)

They want to plop down a Tier 1 piece.
Use a fancy special hammer to turn the Tier 1 piece into a Tier 2 piece for 50% of the Tier 2 piece building costs with 0 of the Tier 1 piece costs returned to you.

Basically, easy mode building to bypass most of the cost.

Upgrading doesn’t refund any material. That why it’s 50% of the cost to up grade.

So essentially, you want to do what we can already do, but in a manor that cost less and is 10 times more confusing?

Not confusing.

Upgrade costs 50% and no return material. Allows to upgrade to next tier.

What we can do now. Build material and replace the tier one at a time.

Upgrading is faster way to build.

It doesn’t get any faster than it currently is. One piece instantaneously becomes another (upgraded piece) the was it currently is. Why didn’t you just say from the beginning that all you really wanted was for it to cost half as much? Not everyone would’ve agree with you, but at least people would’ve understood what you wanted and why.
