The Easy Meta Thrall Weapons That Time Forgot ( And Are Still the Best Meta Weapons )

, ,

Alright folks, every time Conan Exiles gets an update, the “meta” shifts because everyone only looks at whatever drops the most or whatever a YouTuber mentions that week. But there are two weapons one Agility, one Strength that have been meta for YEARS and nobody talks about them because they’re either:

  • not in the common loot pools

  • craftable (so people assume they’re mid‑tier)

  • or dropped by mobs most players ignore

So here are the two easiest, strongest, most slept‑on meta weapons in the entire game.

1. Curved Slayer Katana (Agility Meta)

Why it’s meta:

It hits harder than almost every “popular” agility weapon, and it drops like candy from yellow glowing wight bosses but nobody farms those mobs anymore, so the weapon basically vanished from the community’s memory.

Damage Stats:

  • 71 Light / 85 Heavy (base)

  • 78 Light / 92 Heavy (with Advanced Weapon Damage Kit)

That’s higher than most daggers, claws, short swords, and even some legendary katanas. It also drops more offten than Musashi’s Black Blade.

Why it’s secretly busted:

  • Bleed

  • Hyperarmor

  • Great reach

  • Thralls actually use katana heavy chains correctly

  • Easy to farm

  • Repairable

  • Scales insanely well with Agility builds

What you need for full potential:

  • Advanced Weapon Damage Kit

  • 20 Agility build (for players)

  • Female agility thralls (they animate faster and hit harder)

If you want an agility weapon that’s easy to get, hits like a truck, and isn’t part of the “common meta,” this is it.

2. Blackheart Blade (Strength Meta)

Why it’s meta:

Because it’s literally the strongest two‑handed sword in the game — and it’s craftable.
That’s why nobody talks about it.
People assume “crafted = weak.”
Not this one.

Damage Stats:

  • 91 Light / 108 Heavy (base)

  • 98 Light / 115 Heavy (with Advanced Weapon Damage Kit)

  • Armor Penetration: 26.2%

  • Durability: 4698

  • Weight: 9.19

  • Effects: Cripple, Cursed

But corruption doesn’t matter to thralls and you will not get corrupted by them using it.

Yes, you read that right.

It outdamages almost every legendary 2H sword in the game.

Why it’s secretly busted:

  • Craftable = infinite repairs

  • No RNG

  • No boss farming

  • Works perfectly with thrall AI

  • Best heavy‑attack chunk damage in the game

  • Can be transmogged into ANY medieval 2H sword look

What you need for full potential:

  • T4 Bladesmith (for max damage)

  • Advanced Weapon Damage Kit

  • Thaumaturgy Bench (to transmog it)

  • Steel 2H Sword for skin (for medieval knight look)

  • Poitain 2H Sword for Skin (for Scottish claymore look)

  • Conan’s Atlantean 2H Sword for Skin

This is the easiest, strongest, most slept‑on Strength weapon in Conan Exiles.

Why these two weapons are the REAL meta:

  • They’re easy to get

  • They hit harder than the “popular” meta weapons

  • They work perfectly with thrall AI

  • The one is repairable

  • They scale insanely well

  • They fit medieval, knight, samurai, or agility builds

  • They’ve been strong for YEARS and nobody talks about them

If you’re tired of chasing RNG chest drops or following whatever the current YouTuber meta is, try these two. They’re simple, powerful, and reliable and they’ve been hiding in plain sight.

Have you vetted these? Blackhearts weapons used to prevent thralls from actually doing damage with them.

This post was obviously written by AI, so it was probably researched by AI too. AI is really bad at giving accurate information for Conan due to the game changing so significantly over time and the heaps of misinformation.

I guess this topic can be added to the misinformation pile.

Thralls cannot use cursed items, and reparability is unimportant for a thrall weapon.

I use the blackheart blade with my cimmerian/accursed berserkers on siptah and they use them with no problems.

Yes I used AI to correct the spelling and to make it more clean looking but everything is my info and what I found from testing on the Isle of Siptah.

Blackheart Blade does NOT work with thralls.
Wiki already said so, but i tested it anyways:
Freya does Zero damage

Yep , confirmed- Blackheart blade doesnt work on thralls - i crafted one. Now i remember why i deconstruct them

Ill leave yall with this -

AI is only as smart as those programming it.

Like the internet , its not magic.

That’s what I was wondering while reading this.

But now that I think about it, why are the Blackheart weapons still unusable by Thralls? They’re not that powerful compared to other weapons. Oh well, probably a thing that Funcom forgot about.

What are you using chat gpt 0.7 ?

Spouting complete nonsense.

Freyas weapon the hjorthrimul is an agility short sword. When funcom made her a fully voiced follower with a quest she was coded to use an agility weapon and the Blackheart Blade is a strength weapon. So she is not going to work well with a strength weapon. I used cimmerian berserkers on siptah to test the Blackheart blade in single player on my xbox series x. They swing it like any other two handed sword.

I’m using Microsoft Copilot to correct spelling and to make everything more clean looking.

Swinging it is not the issue, actually inflicting damage is.

Cursed weapons are coded to check if the user is a player, if not, it multiplies damage by 0. This is actually the same reason why wight bosses currently do no damage (more on that here).

I crafted all their weapons with a T4 bladesmith first then I added a advanced weapon damage kit to them to push the swords damage to the max. They cut through the bosses on siptah without my help. But that is also in PVE so I don’t know if things change in PVP because I have never done PVP.

Weapons like the Blackheart Blade should deal 0 damage when used by thralls. But maybe it’s bugged on XBox? They did have some issues with these weapons before.

Freya can use strength weapons without issue, and she’s stronger with them than with agility weapons - if everything works like it should. If her agility should - against all odds - outpace strength after leveling, she might do a very tiny bit more damage with an agility weapon. But overall, a strength mace or axe is the safe bet.

I believe that maybe we have a complete misunderstanding here. I am pretty sure that the op is not speaking for the same weapon all the rest is .

If however we do speak about the same weapon maybe the op is dealing with a beneficial bug . Tbh i never tested blackheart on thralls in Siptah, maybe there it works and the op is not fantasizing.

But blackheart generally is a very powerful weapon indeed for corrupted builds however . I don’t find it better from the abysal maul , since hammers are more reliable from 2h swords in fights. Blackheart has really op Slash and it can be used to slice an enemy one shot, but you loose almost all your stamina . More or less , blackheart have kinda replaced the sword of Crom awesomeness.

But meta ? No freaking way!!!

Then… if it’s not Musashi it’s not enough, so again i find mistake here also.

Musashi on Al Merayah was meta indeed, the curved slayer nope ! Not even close .

I’ll second the topicstarter regarding the Curved Slayer—it also has an execution effect. A very interesting weapon.
