What are your favourite weapons?

I would keep it on TOP 3. So mine are:

  1. Star metal short sword
  2. Heartsblood daggers
  3. Musashi’s Black Blade

You can also include why those and in what situations are you usually using them. And to be clear, I mean weapons you personally use, not the ones you give to your thralls.

Ⅰ- Musashi’s Black Blade
Highest Agility damage option, you will split World Bosses open in two combos! Also a great weapon to deal with everything PvE wise; you have fast light-attacks, you have solid AoE, you have big heavy damage, and you have an AoE mobility option with dash. Also, it applies cripple and you can also add a bit more bleed on top :theworst:

Ⅱ- Tulwar of Amir Khurum
I recently picked up the 1H sword and this is the only Agility version. I grew to like it due to its versatility; it has fast options, some mobility, you can have reliable single-target but you can also use some AoE attacks. It can also be used with a torch, with a shield (but I stopped using shields), while swimming, and while riding horse! It is just a very solid weapon overall.

Ⅲ - Whirlwind Blades
The only Agility option for something that resembles 1H Axe. It is a really good craftable weapon and due to the first heavy attack’s damage multiplier it will overcome the Black Dragon Pike in roll and poke damage!
I just really like the moveset, it feels fast and dynamic, every move is dodge-available, the only downside against a regular 1H Axe is that the Spin to Win takes too much stamina so the final knockdown effect is not really available.

Honorable Mentions:
Black Dragon Pike → Agility Spear is just pretty good overall, would use it a ton if I went back to PvP.
Reach of the Red Mother → I tend to play melee, so I don’t use bows a lot, but I still like playing it sometimes.
Heartsblood Daggers → Bleed + Gouging is just really nice DoT, but I personally think daggers are underwhelming at the moment. Would be a different story in PvP maybe.

From year to year I got used to at the beginning of the game with the first thrall to go to UC from the west and knock out a Predator`s Blade from Brut. In addition, I often have to play with a torch, so a good sword is a lovely weapon from a power weapon. Of the weapons of agility - bow and katana.

This is a list that changes when they revamp stuff, but right now my lineup is, in no particular order:

  • Yog’s Touch: one-handed axes are my favorite weapon, because of the hyper armor, the knockdown of human enemies, and the cripple and bleed effects, but Yog’s Touch is the best of those, due to its armor pen
  • Momentum: great for stacking sunder and doing unholy amounts of damage to enemies with high armor
  • Mordlun: my go-to weapon while mounted, also good for poking a single enemy from a bit of a distance
  • Venom-Infused Daggers: weak as shіt in terms of damage, but that doesn’t matter, because what I use them for is to stack bleed and poison
  • Glimmermoon: when you’re building or farming, wield this and then sheathe it, and you don’t need a torch
  • Lovetap: sure, a truncheon will knock out a single enemy much faster, but Lovetap has a mace moveset and all that comes with it

And now that I’ve had the chance to try playing with agility instead of strength, there’s a couple of weapons that I’m adding to that list:

  • Baal-pteor’s Razor: the wide swipes feel somewhat like an axe, but I wish it had a knockdown effect
  • Black Dragon Pike: replaces Mordlun when I’m in agility-based spec

After seeing a video @SpherisCore posted, I’m going to start experimenting with katanas a bit

Nice!

Could not agree more about the best katana in the game… Idk how is it with Grey One’s one now, but I have really soft spot for Musashi’s. Also heavy combo with this thingie is super effective while fighting Red Mother or other less agile and tougher enemies, and if they are not undead, you give them pretty nice amount of bleed as well.

I have three of those Tulwars and did not bother to try them yet. o.o I am in for short swords, but not so much for normal one handed ones. Maybe I could try as well, as I see it.

About Whirlwind… How is it with Havoc and Malice? Those are considered STR weapons axes? If so and Blades are better and AGI ones, then I have to try. I remember I was not ok with low dmg from Havoc and Malice.

And Reach is without question the necessity for any ranged-loving player.

Considering daggers… Yeah, I am still trying to find out which enemies are prone to stagger when hit, because in some cases you are not able to finish your combo. Because since AoW ever hit hurts a lot. I use Heartsblood on undead, because there is no other weapon like this with which you could apply some other stacking effect on them.

How about to grind some of those Night-stalker’s masks? Could help. I never got into the shield/torch combos with primary weapon, seemed and feeled too clumsy to me, because the offhand stuff never does any significant amount of dmg.

Need to craft them with a T4 Bladesmith otherwise they aren’t worth.

Whirlwind Blades are better in my view for two reasons:
• Agility Weapon (sadly Agility is just the better attribute at the moment, by far)
• Baseline Armor Penetration.

They have the same heavy damage, and you basically only want to use up to 3 attacks, the first one always being heavy, second and third generally heavy but not necessarily, then roll and repeat.

What really carries is the damage multiplier on the first heavy attack. Roll and Poke 1 Heavy does more damage with the Whirlwind Blades than with the Black Dragon Pike, despite the damage difference :eyes:

So yeah, 78 Heavy DMG gets outshined by 58 Heavy DMG due to the multiplier, crazy

I prefered one handed axes probably the longest period in the game. When I got Axe of the Gate Guardian, I was super happy and ofc I grinded more of those, just in case to break them eventually. I was excited to get Touch of Yog, but because I do not play PvP anymore, the previous one served me better. I also hate the fact that Yog’s axe share appearance with the Berserker one and maybe other ones. :expressionless:

Momentum is right now the best weapon for my thralls. For players there is the disadvantage of the weight… But still decent.

Mordlun… I still have to get more into pike style, because I have litrally no experience in this. But many PvP players say that good pike is the best weapon you can have. Venom infused, for example. Btw. You use Mordlun in corrupted state?

Venom daggers would be my TOP fourth weapon.

About the glowing weapons… Meh to me. You can see one step before you, but that is it. It’s like to wield normal torch on Siptah, so frustrating.

Lovetap… I had no luck to find one so far. I just found one in decayed base, that someone used without upgrading it with master blunted weapon fitting. :') Good for weapon rack.

Baal-pteor’s Razor, huh… It has something special? :open_mouth: I know it says it weighs nothing, or something like that… But it is also considered an agility weapon? o.O

I almost never came across it, and now I play Savage Wilds

WTF.

So excited, thanx to you have some serious fight/training plans for tomorrow. :open_mouth: If the Whirlwind blades can do the same uninterruptable combo… drooling

The flying cockatoo of the gods. It looks like a toucan. The story goes that a cockatoo always brought grapes to its owners one sick day and when it died its owners turned it into a sword so that it would last forever. I don’t remember the name of the weapon and that’s how I put it. end
Screenshot_20230731-185801 sorry :pensive: willl…

This is Sword of N’Ruka.
It used to be one of the strongest swords, but now it has been heavily nerfed…

If you’re referring to corrupting my attributes and perks, I don’t do that. I tried it out and the corrupted perks have some nice advantages, but those just don’t seem to be worth sacrificing my stamina pool.

Dunno, I usually use it when I’m building at night, and it’s good enough

Yeah, it’s a really good agility weapon. Not a lot of those outside daggers and bows.

Depends on the map for some.

1: starmetal shortsword for EL.
Voidforge Gladius for siptah.
-honestly just love this weapon all around for agility. I feel like it doesn’t get much love from funcom though since they never introduce any cool skins for it.

2: Musashi’s black blade for EL
Voidforge Katana on Siptah.
-nothing beats a katana for clearing multiple enemies at once as far as agility weapons go. It’s just alot of fun to use.

3: Abyssal Bow.
-I don’t often use a bow but when I do I love not needing to carry arrows for it.

Honorable mention to venom infused daggers and diseased daggers. I used to use these often but since AoW no fight lasts long enough to make DoTs worth it anymore…

So I have opened up to legendary and OMG, what fun. B razer is just grueling nasty but I prefer MB blade because the combat is far more fun in an agility build and the damage is close to the same. B razer’s can be stocked up via purchase though while RNG is needed for MB Blade.

While there are some great Legendary weapons available, it is random what you get and you may never get the weapon that you want, so instead I will focus on my favorite craftable weapons…

Exiled Lands: Ancient Lemurian Axe - with the right Blacksmith and addon it can have a good amount of damage + armor pen.
Siptah: Voidforge Gladious: A short sword with decent damage and armor pen + poison on each strike, what’s not to like

Trash basically, some of my most satisfying kills has been with absolute trash I have had at hand, iron swords, severed legs, stone spear, two handed stone sword, the Iron poinards! bone claws looooove bone claws!, that extreme stun.

Nothing is more satisfying then being outgeared having a trash weapon and then just out finessing someone with combat movement

Ummmmm

I prefer sarcasm as my weapon of choice.

@erjoh, yes the voidforge Gladious recipe is random in the Tower, but at least Siptah has an abundance of Fragments of Power, I have so far never had any problems getting that recipe in my many restarts on Siptah, actually I have often ended up with several extra recipes of it to trade away, also there are often some people who have an extra recipe to trade, so not really hard to get.
