With the latest update causing the the game to fail to load, I was unable to get in game and reset my decay timers in time. That’s six years, 6072 hours, countless rare and no longer available items gone all because these devs are simply incapable of testing software before it goes live.
Age of Heroes has been trash. The bugs have been trash. It’s been painful playing the game in this state. The bugs they refuse to fix. The performance issues they refuse to address. And to end my game like this, because an update to an event I’ve already done to death broke loading is a bitter pill to swallow. Maybe ripping the band-aid off is the best way.
I am truly sorry about that @delirium. Logged into my private server a few hours ago some strange things happened but nothing as severe as what you have gone through. If wasn’t for my friends and personal server I would be considering to give up myself. Would not consider Purchasing Dune!
I still rent a private PvE server for the original Exiled Lands if you want some recreational stability you’re welcome to play whenever. It’s currently set to increase resource gathering rates (less grinding) & keep your inventory on death (no transportories when I set it).

youve got bugs from FC and other people on the live servers building shit everywhere and… well just being people – i play games to relax not put up with all that crap. i will miss playing with the few cool and helpful people i met on official tho (you know who you are!)
im actually surprised at the persistence of people through all the bugs, hackers, and lack of customer service lol. you lot really are impressive.
dune better have a single player or dedicated server option or im out.
@delirium I am so very sorry for your loss. Coming from someone who has stared down the barrel of losing their accumulative years of save data twice in the past, I really feel for you. Much like yourself, my game is also broken now and will not load at all; 9 days and counting. And I am also sorry that like many others, including myself you have been ignored on this. The only thing which spared me the same fate is that I am an Offline Singleplayer, and as such, I have been able to turn off decay in my Admin Settings. You do not deserve this, none of us do. And I feel so bad for you man. Is there anything I could do to help?
Try looking at it as an opportunity to try something new. A new build style, race, gender or server type, the thrill of hunting new thralls. You won’t lose access to your Twitch earned items and Jhebbal Sag’s event and the Khitan slavers will rotate back in again.

I’ve been there so many times that i don’t feel anymore. But i get the sentiment totally!
I think my biggest issue with all this outside of the 1000’s of hours dedicated is the loss of all the items no longer in game. I had Wights and Monstrositys guarding the doors. I had Thralls you can no longer get. Siptah items in EL. Rare armor and weapons. Event loot you can’t get in game. My base was set up as a museum in the Crevice. Players could come in and see everything the game had ever had. I had vaults of mats for new players. My role on my server was basically historian. And now it’s all gone.
Thanks for the option of a private server. This might be where I tap out.
I’ve been in the forums in the past but I’ve been here a lot since the Age of Heroes debacle and one of things that I’ve taken note of is that the least serious “issues” are the ones that receive official responses. Who cares if Conan isn’t in his bar? What about characters dying offline? That merits quick action.
I wish things were different and some of us are trying but when I see posts and comments like yours, no matter how much any of us wish or try, it often feels like it doesn’t matter.
Even if it does (and I’m fairly sure they said it won’t), why would that be any better? Many of the people currently locked out of the game are either single-player or dedicated server. And Funcom has done nothing to resolve this - indeed there is now a bug report that another dedicated server user cannot access their server since an undocumented minor update yesterday that has added them to the list of players locked out of the game. Funcom have our money for CE already - why would they care if any of us can actually access the product we’ve paid for?
