The horse rushes into battle and interferes with the battle

Previously, when a fight started, the horse ran away to the side, but now it climbs into the fight and only prevents the fight and blocks the movement of the owner.
Please add to the horse settings, the setting of behavior in battle, as in human slaves (Aggression, Passivity, Escape).

Unless youā€™re using mods, horses are completely non-combat and donā€™t fight at all, instead they run away from enemies.

I donā€™t use a mod for horse combat but experienced this yesterday where my horse was running up to an enemy and just standing on them. Mounting and dismounting seemed to reset the AI for mine and it went back to staying out of the way.

Ah, so it wasnā€™t attacking, just standing there?
And yes, mounting a horse completely destroys their AI and a new one gets created when dismounting, so that would reset any behaviors.

Anyway, would still probably be useful to know what server OP is playing on and whether they have mods or not and if this is something constant and reproduceable every single time or just happens occasionally.

Iā€™ve seen this behavior by mounts when my character has War Party but I currently have one combat follower and one mount.

I had this issue more than once - my horse is in the middle of the fight instead of fleeing from it - itĀ“s rushing after the bosses.
Mods: Pippi, Amunet Server Transfer and SW - nothing more.

I donĀ“t have and point in authority at all, so no war party.

Iā€™ve noticed this as well. Itā€™s not always happening but enough to get annoying. Iā€™m on PlayStation

I play without mods on a regular server. And not on one. I play on different servers. Both on the Exiles and on the island of Siptah, the behavior of the horse after the upgrade became so aggressive.

I can only add that it seemed to happen pretty much consistently the last couple of months that I was still playing (so already occuring before Age of Heroes) - especially tended to happen if I tried to order a fighter follower into combat (which seemed to be required as the only way to get them to involve themselves - probably related to placing them in chairs etc). Game was modded, so no point me reporting anything, but maybe the ā€˜ordering into combatā€™ element applies to some of the others in this thread? Basically the fighter would then charge in (and often stand around looking stupid) and the horse would generally go with it and just get in the wayā€¦

Before the update, it happened that after the order to the fighter, the horse also reacted and went into battle, but immediately ran away. There were no problems.
And now, without an order (!), even when several horses are standing guard and if there is a fight nearby, they crowd into the fight. It gets in the way a lot in combat!

Rename your horse to Shadowmere if it continues to pick fights

Iā€™m sorry, I donā€™t speak English well. Were you joking about the renaming?

Yes. Shadowmere is an incredibly aggressive horse from Bethesdaā€™s Elder Scrolls series -specifically, Oblivion and Skyrim.

No I was grumbling about it too and I play on the official PVE server , so itā€™s not about mods.
It was most noticeable in purges when the enemy got within range when the thralls responded and went against them, the horse immediately joined in and rushed into the middle of the fight , usually blocking the thralls in the process - it only ran away when it took a few hits and the usual comedy ensued with the horse running first , followed by the enemy and then the thralls chasing him.
Considering the state of the game Iā€™ve ignored it.

But this is a long term problem , it started with the AI changes along with the new purges.
Just another of the thousand or so problems that have arisen from not thinking through the implications of game changes and not testing anything thoroughly.

I think the idea is that the AI will call ā€œattackā€ for all those following the player, and only afterwards in combat will the normal AI of the horse start running away.

I donā€™t really use mounts much, but I find that when using them if you increase the follow distance from the default 5m to something like 10-15m it makes them interfere with player movement a lot less.

Mounts should default to max follow distance if you ask me. Anyway I canā€™t stand their AI so I just donā€™t use them anymore, same with other types of followers.

Max follow distance introduces some issues of itā€™s own, such as mounts not following you into buildings, or being hopelessly far away (even perhaps on the wrong end of a cliff) when you need to make a quick escape.

The default setting of 5m does seem inconveniently close though.

They teleport to you if they struggle to reach you though, but yeah itā€™s not ideal for quick escapes obviously, there would be a delay.
