You haven’t considered the impact these spells have on PvP. Before you had to actually carry loot to your base when you were raiding and there was a good chance you got caught on the way. Now you can just run to a safe location nearby, remove bracelet, sapwn to your base and spell your corpse full of loot there. Then there’s all the other stuff i and many others have mentioned, ice bridges and flying bats for one. They make building defenses pointless and in PvP that is bs. This was the best survival game but unfortunately that is not the case anymore, you have destroyed the whole concept.
Yes they did. There were multiple conversations about them in Beta. They made some choices I agreed with, and some I didn’t. I don’t need to post about it since they already heard what I had to say. Same with the others. You are seeing the developers intent at play. Not a careless adding of features. The repercussions were considered, the consequences were considered, the impacts were considered. You are experiencing the game as they had intended it. Feedback was given. Some of us were ok with it, some of us weren’t. There wasn’t really a consensus but that doesn’t matter, at the end of the day, Funcom was going to make their game how they wanted it to be.
So now that you know that. You have a few options.
You can play/host on a server that removes spells. Its a server setting any server can do, no mod required.
You can play where you are and endure.
You could continue to make posts like this. That’s your choice. But honestly ask yourself. Are they ever going to be like, “Oh spells were a bad idea, let’s revert this.” Come on now, that’s a fantasy and not even a good one. 3-4x the player numbers as prior to 3.0 even after free weekend is over speaks for itself. Those spells are a part of the game and a healthy part. Even if a few of you don’t agree.
Yeah - hard no. Pass.
This is another “if I had a dime for however many times I’ve heard” - and in this case its everytime there is an update to the game, someone or five come in and claim it was the best game evah and now its destroyed and pvp is worthless.
Since early access days when we had crossbows.
I’m sure Funcom will get right on rolling back an entire Update because you dont like it.
I think that you need to offer more constructive criticism beyond “Remove them” if you expect Funcom to listen.
You want defensive to bats is land mines they do 300 damage

I actually love the spells, i just think they need some tuning , at least on official pvp. Im built above keyhe on the tower, love the view of the surrounding areas although enemies could place trebs literally anywhere but im okay taking that risk. Now however the introduction of a bat and slow fall mechanic omplicates things a bit. I am actually enjoying trying to figure out the best way i can think of yto counter this aspect but im not sure placing 100 lv archer thralls will work the way i hope, as the bat can fly from the top of the snowy jhil mountains using only about half its stamina and be so far above my archers they wont even agro at 50m. This is a problem. Imo , ascending with the bat should cost way more stam.
Also, naked trolls who are really horrible at fighting are now spending their whole day working out of sandstone shacks, farming leather pouches and lightning whatever they can, which is my gold rock nose farm. Trivial to me really but if they happen to bat up top my base will be gone in 5 casts of lightning. Thankfully i can kill them with no effort and take their pouches but i need to now babysit my base for 5 hours, where they have no real base for me to counterattack. So this causes an imbalance with pvp where players who have spent time building up for months can literally be wiped within 4 minutes. That is not hyperboly. 5 minutes you can wipe a base with a few casts of lightning.
I dont mind the spell being in the game but it shouldnt do nearly as much as it currently does, it replaces every othet method of raiding by a mile and allows players with no skill to just be a nuisence.
If the developers truely did put as much thought and considerstion into these spells as some are claiming then that really says something about how the devs feel about the pvp community, and its not good.
Ontop of this there is stealth, which is mostly fine, however, it lasts for 5 minutes and doesnt deactivate when you take damage or place bombs.
I have my transpatory stone into my base enclosed with 4 thralls gaurding it. However, if someone is able to teleport into my base while stealthed ( you stay stealthed) my thralls wont agro. Im fine with this mechanic. However, if i place a palisade on my transporter or poison mine, the damage they take while porting in shod pull them out of stealth, thus allowing thralls to do their job. Again, however palisade and poison damage do NOT pull players out of stealth, thereby allowing them to remain stealthed for 5 mjnutea, place bombs, then on activating the bombs do they come out of stealth.
They can do this naked and bring as many bombs as they wish to place and just get themselves killed but destroying building pieces around. Now its my fsult for putting the transport in my base this is true, ive taken these things into consideration, i just think its silly for 5 min stealth that doesnt break on damage taken.
Sorcery is awesome, but some tuning should be done
