There sould be random raids again

I think yall should bring back random raids where you would be building your base and out of the a raids appear and you have to defend your base. That to me would be fun and challenging. Having it where you have to targer the raids first take the fun out of being surprised and unprepared

It wasnā€™t much of a surprise before. You could see the purge bar filling up. When it got close to the top you had to stop building or killing humans to let it go down into a safe level again. personally I prefer the new way of triggering the purge and itā€™s goal is to steal valuables from you not just destroy your base. As a bit of roleplayer I choose not to think of it as triggering a purge but that the stories of my wealth got back to the Stygian army whoā€™s come to take it from me.

I am pretty new to this game i came from playing valhiem to here. So for the random raid here it use to have a purge bar that would fill up that how they worked?

No, it is just more gambling as-is. It needs more meaning and selection for loot. Right now it just needs to run the gauntlet.

Everyone says ā€œbring back random raidsā€ until the Avalanche comes and knocks down your pretty houses and kills all your pretty thralls in a whirlwind of stone and death.

I would prefer factions in certain areas and thrallable enemies including crafters being brought back.

Yeah, I mostly miss being able to get a whole slew of different, unique (even if in name only) crafters and even fighters, most which are no longer available.

I do also miss feeling the pressure of the purge. As it stands, Iā€™ve barely participated in the new ones because I make sure to take all my time to create a good base and can completely ignore that mechanic until I am ready. Less survival, more appointment.

(Though to be fair, I mostly ignore religion too because it serves pretty much no purpose)

You never got surpriesed by a rocknose avalanche purge then lol. I was new in game, building my hut and farming for days, and then listened a horn, FooOoOoOoOooow!!! an avalanche of rocknose are coming for you. I think what a hell do i did to them? So they arrieved, i tought pff they are weak, first wave, second wave, on the third wave aprox ten rockkings running uphill, and it keep increasing and i was surviving, at least part of my base because i have died a lot. Then finally he arrieves, the RockSlide and put an end to my base and me. Cool? yes and not. I found the new system more balanced.

No, never rock nose purges (not my preferred base area to build) but multiple cultist purges.

Iā€™d like to see the old style purges - in a fashion - integrated back into the game too, as well as keeping the current stygian ā€˜purgeā€™ (itā€™s not really a purge as such I donā€™t think, they just want to steal treasure).

I think theyā€™re both thematically and mechanically different enough that they can exist together.

I am not at all opposed to having both of them in the game, as long as the option existed to turn off the original Purge. Choice is good.
