Can you get in trouble for placing thralls close to one another? Does is mess anything up server side? Is there an allowed limit?
There is a limit to how close you can place them. The game should simply deny you placement if its too close.
Mods can of course change this…
you cant do it on official so no.
Oh but you can
How come?
If you mean make them stop following at the right spot or something, the answer is still no.
Thats not what im talking about. Ive tried that and it doesnt work right. This isnt that.
Place one where you desire, then have it follow you far enough away then set to stop following. Then place the other one near where you place the first one. Then log off for 15 mins or so and they will reset to the positions you placed them. For bonus effect have the thralls move to a position away from initial location then command them to face in the direction of your intended placement, they should always be behind in relation to the chosen placement to get them to face the direction you desire. It takes a bit of trial and error but works well for having thralls use converse emotes.
No. That way you dont control the way theyre facing.
Is that using too much memory or anything?
Its not a glitch and not a mod.
What this person is asking is if you cheese the system to place thralls “too close” together, is that a violation of the ToC.
We don’t have an answer for that and Funcom has not been forthcoming about what their view is on it.
Its simple gravity. Not cheesing anything.
Oh it’s definitely cheesing it, the in game thrall placement programming only allows you to place thralls so many feet apart. Cheesing the system by placing thralls on build pieces/removing or following, placing, etc.,… is bypassing that programming. You can place thralls infinitely in the same position this way.
Again, to answer your question: we don’t know.
Having RP style building or in your case, a vigil, with no other purpose whatsoever, can be seen as a violation of the ToC.
In short, yes, it could easily get you in trouble on Officials.
No craft stations, no defensible position.
No bed in sight. Not even an altar.
That’s an out building and land claim spam.
Still looks nice and flavourful, but absolutely not for officials.
Beds and other crafting stations are all inside the buildings. From the back of the farthest buolding to the front of the amphitheater is all with in 65 foundations easily.
Woah, are things that strict on officials???
I see thralls next to a base, whether placed in a fun original manner or just standing there to defend the base, what is the difference?
Are you not allowed to make your things look cool?
Still could run afoul of the outbuilding rules.
@SpherisCore
Not always, but it can be. This one has not seen solid consistency in enforcement, so taken at the most strict enforcement that this one has observed, that building could be an HOA violation.
When offering advice, this one prefers to er on the side of caution.
Just do it, they aren’t even banning hackers right now so you are fine. Its not a offense if its for some dumb little build contest or in a PVE server lmao…
