I’m guessing other are experiencing this and Conan being the bug filled game it is, just write it off as yet just another broken piece of the game. But I’d like to know how many others this is happening to. PS5, official server. After thralls get to around level 10 they only do one attack, then stand there with weapon in hand. Will only engage when they are attacked, then do one attack, then stand there. If I go up and open the menu, physically move the weapon out of there hand and but it in the inventory slot then they will do one attack again. I’m on multiple servers 3502, 3534, 3730 and 3725. All thralls on all servers are doing it. Save the comments on if I have engagements set to attack all blah, blah, blah. I’ve played over 2000 hours on this game. It is a bug and need to know if others are experiencing this to know if I waste my time reporting it. Thanks
Thrall AI ability to act seems to be inversely proportional to how busy the server in question is.
So if you’re playing on an empty server, thralls tend to be more active and behave more rationally. But if your server is full of people, buildings and thralls, they get stupider because the server can’t handle processing the AI behavior.
So it may not be as bug in the game programming, but rather an effect on how crappy the G-Portal public servers are.
Thanks for reply. I play at 2am pacific time and am the only one on server #3524 most nights. That is not the issue. I just noticed after posting, once all threat within a certain distance has been eliminated( by myself or the other thrall in the war party getting gang graped while the other one just sits there rockin back and forth with weapon in hand) that the thrall will then sheath its weapon and be ready for next command. The bug is that the AI is only allowing for one attack, if the thrall is not constantly being engaged it freezes untill threat detection is no longer present.
In that case, no, I have not experienced a similar problem. My thralls seem to be quite aggressively engaging the enemy. When I have two thralls at the same time, the other one may be slower to approach the enemy (one rushes at the enemy, while the other one “stalks”), but both attack and keep attacking until whichever nuisance they found is no longer moving.
Is your problem affecting only specific thralls, or does the same happen with all thralls? Maybe there’s a flaw in certain thralls’ AI rather than the whole?
No all of them. I also didn’t mention, I use the stop and move commands a lot. Upon doing so I will move and guard a thrall to a spot after getting to base and as soon as I place them they will run back to the spot they were just at. If I log out they will be in the spot I placed them on return. Game is so broken. I just lost a Berzerker and a Lian in the Khaels Stronghold on the first boss to get a statue. One just stood there while the other was ganged up on and killed, then the other. Mind you both were only lvl 13, but still normally it would be a 2 min room clear. I sat back and let it happen to capture it in case someone actually wanted to know at Funcom what was going on. I’m no longer running war party, lets see if that works. Extra perks on one thrall instead. Lets see if that works.
