Bug Description:

This is an issue that has been reported for quite some time. I saw a post 2 months ago that happens across platforms like pc, xbox, etc and raises the same issue I remember. When I place them in a chair, they become dumb. Any time they’re in the chair and if I follow them anytime after that, they become very stupid when they’re fighting. They first attack and don’t fight back until they are hit by the enemy, they just stand still with their weapons in place even if the enemy is far away. Sometimes they don’t even listen to commands and this is especially noticeable when dealing with big monsters like mammoths. So every time they stop, you have to keep doing the return order from time to time, which makes the game very tired. There is also no exception for human enemies. In this state, they fight back less than usual and often remain still even if they recognize the enemy. No matter what chair place on, the type of chair doesn’t matter. If I place them in a regular chair, bench, etc. spot where something sits, a bug happens. The only known way to fix this is to get them out of the chair, put them up and place them before the server reboot and follow them after the reboot. Of course, if I place them in the chair, it breaks down again.

Bug Reproduction:

It must happen if place the thralls on any type of chair.

With thrall following, have you checked the Behaviour in the Thrall Inventory? Should allow you to set everything.
When they sit, they are reset when getting up again. I think it’s because you may have picked some other thrall to follow you? Dunno. I am in habit of checking settings everytime I have a thrall follow, just in case.
You could try setting an un-following thrall to their default actions and then see if those change if you make them follow?

I have checked all the settings and experimented several times. This problem occurs no matter how I set it up

In my case I don’t bother trying to place them in chairs. With the Living Thralls, my thralls keep using chairs when they need to, so I just ignore.
I needed to keep all thralls outside whilst I was redesigning some of the base. I had to remove all the crafting stations before the thralls would allow themselves to Sit and Stay - like herding a class of 3-year olds really

I’ve observed this exact behavior and can confirm it in an unmodded server. Placing a thrall in a chair breaks their combat AI until you remove them from the chair and restart the server.
