How can I prevent my thralls from opening my doors during pvp hours (on a PVE-C server)? I don’t need pvp players entering my buildings, killing my offline character and robbing what I have on my body!
This seems like a bad idea for PVE-C. Is there a way to prevent thralls from doing that? I really don’t want to have to strip down every time I log off and put it all back every time I log in.
Until the “door locks” are implemented, you’ll have to consider compromises (I know, nothing I’d expect or want to do either):
• as you suggest, remove everything, store in chest before log off, I do this as a rule though because dying while offline has always been a possibility - this is probably the easiest interim band aid
• break the AI so thralls are stationary
• move all of your interactables up a floor, only accessible by elevator
• remove your doors
• turn off all stations, work benches, seating, beds, campfires, lighting, just about anything that can be setup from the radial wheel (ensure nothing is accessible inside/outside like taverns/wells)
I think the earlier suggestion was to use 1/2 height walls as a barrier to thralls leaving. If thralls can’t jump it, then it seems like a perfect suggestion.
I suspect (pure guess) that Funcom Devs are doing stuff to help resolve this - hence the relative silence.
One workaround, though not ideal, is to put the ‘main door’ to the base one foundation up from the floor. Thralls cannot (yet?) climb on their own, so will not be able to access that door. They then stay safely inside your base, behaving themselves. As long as they cannot get to the door, they should not be able to open it. You can put a ladder up to it I guess, instead of climbing?
Oh 100% regarding spiders, but we have to also accept that there are a lot of players that may have an issue with crawly things, so…
But, on the other paw, I am hugely disappointed that Joel/Jens, and then Andy/Dennis, all completely ignored my suggestion for trap-door spiders. That would make running about the desert a much more interesting (and Solifugae (Sun spiders)) too.
