The polygon mesh of the ground is just that, a mesh. Thralls are pushed down into the ground when a large creature moves or attacks over them, effectively cancelling the thrall for the fight.
This happens too often; the ground is not solid.
Yes, it was a three-skull croc, same as with the rhino charge, the snake boss at the unnamed city, scorpion bosses when whipping with their tail, in short, anything and everything that crosses above them… and yes, the red mother as well.
I’ve also experienced this with the blood crystal rocknoses from time to time (usually newer characters with sub-optimal weapons where TTK is much longer, increasing the chance this will happen).
