Would the encumbrance limit still be in effect?

There are some threads that may have a dev answer I have seen but I not willing to give you the wrong answer since I wasn’t paying that much attention.
To the best of my understanding encumbrance is still in effect
and is only not applied when the actual merge happens.

Bring something to carry it.
If you’re talking about the merger, getting the last encumbrance perk is probably the better way to go,
try to log onto the new server at non-peak hours then get out of the starting area asap.
I would like dev/admin answer on this please.

They NEED to transfer your character nonetheless. I would pack up and use ALL your available inventory slots, then wait for merge day.
