Currently trapped behind my horse and thrall in the hall down to the archivist. Turned them to unfollow, so they are scouting, which means they should return home when? Can I be logged out? I couldn’t get them to move or stand guard.
Happen to me often; kick them or ask them to move, crouch, this should work 
I tried all that. Thanks tho…. Seems like I die of thirst at the drop of a hat except when I’m trapped under my horse and at 50% corruption.
Also bound the command “move” to another button, that was a game changing in this situation. Except of that, remove bracelet… the ultimate solution…

We used to carry a katana because the animation would move the character out of situations like this.
If you log out for around 10 to 20 minutes scouting thralls should return home.
If you can place the reticle on an area away from the thrall you can order them to move to that spot while they are following you, just by using the activate command. (this is what I would try first)

This. I never leave home without a katana. If you don’t use a katana regularly—like me—it can literally be an iron katana. Damage doesn’t matter, just the animation is all you need! 
Fun fact, a free katana is available for the twitch drops right now if you want a stylish blood crystal one!
