Triggering Star Metal Meteors. Any Advice?

Hi everyone.
Much of this thread will re-cover what I have said in a previous bug report thread, which can be found here:

But either way, here is the gist of it and what I am asking for help with. I have a bug. My poor parner has now been playing the game, on and off, since it first launched back in May. Unfortunately, we have still not seen even a so much as a single Star Metal meteor appear on her game in that entire time. We have both spent days, even weeks of real world time roaming and waiting around in the Western half of the Frozen North, however still nothing. The strange thing is that I still seem to get a good amount of them, and were on the same ps4. She now has three T3 shrines, but cant make any of their top end weapons, as they require Star Metal.

Ok so my question to the community is, is there anything I can try to ‘encourage’ the meteors to spawn? Got a trick of the trade? Know of any unintended prerequisites? I am happy to try any ideas out.

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

I don’t play much single player, so I can’t help with the meteors. But, there are lots of alternatives to star metal weapons. Acheronian aren’t as good (heavier and slightly less damage), but they’re plenty good for PVE content. Serpent-man recipes from the volcano are better than star metal, and easier to maintain. Dragonbone are also very good. The Kinslayer weapons are top-notch for 1HS and 2HS. That won’t solve the underlying problem (which would bother me too), but at least she won’t have to wait on content while looking for a solution.

You’re able to get a little Star Metal from Skeletons nearby https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Star_Metal_Bar

In solo / co-op you can enable the admin mode. Once in the admin panel you can get any resources that exists in the game in any amount. If it’s impossible to gather normally starmetal because there isn’t any meteor falls, then use the admin panel.

As an aside to this comment:
Most players try to limit admin powers as much as possible when enjoying the game.
So if you must resort to admin powers, the typical star metal drop for a single meteor is 80-100 star metal ore.
I try to limit my admin powers on my SP play through. I only spawn what I need if it is not possible to get on single player server settings.

We in SP need some server settings about meteor showers badly! For those who can use mods (PC players) one of them offers a command that triggers an instant meteor shower (but only in “meteor area” in the North). So I see that this mechanics is not hard-coded in game binaries. Hey, Funcom, give server Admins some possibilities to fine-tune meteor showers just like weather severity and other things!

From my SP experience: You have to spend an ingame-night in the ice biome to trigger meteors. Without leaving the game. You may still have to wait, but they will come.

Success friends
SUCCESS!! Of all the odd timing in the world, today, almost a year after she first started her character, her first meteor! (Trust it to finally work after I stir-up a fuss!) At first she spent the morning killing Silent Leigon skeletons (thanks @TheLOLxd2 I forgot they do drop them occasionally :grinning:), but to no avail. Later on in the evening, we re-tried @Shadoza and @Muelee method, as cheating was deemed the absolute last resort for her, but still on the table. It took well over an hour and a half of real time. Put it this way, I stood her character on one of the large statues, went to the gym and came back after a little over an hour, then ate dinner. So I apporoximate around 1.5 hrs total. Then finally, a marvel to behold! I know we stood there for VERY long periods of time before. But I cant say for absolute certain if it was this long previously. But for the good of any others, the bar (for us) was set at around the 1.5 hrs mark. So to anyone else, maybe park your character in one place then watch a dvd in the background.

Look, I want to thankyou ALL very much for coming foward and offering helpful and constructive solutions to this problem. Heres to you all
