Are you aware that you can disable thrall use for your own bed and furniture, as well as disable thrall use on stations (individually).
Personally, it’s pain in the neck sometimes especially since you can assign practically any thrall to any station regardless of profession. So we have to be careful at times to where we place them.
One exception that I’ve noticed is once you place a fighter to simply guard out in the open somewhere, they will remain in place. (this is on SP however, so I don’t know if it also works in MP).

same here only solution for the living settlement problems was isolating the thralls, its impossible to enjoy the live settlements, when you put a thrall on a bench it does not stay there and in two seconds it leaves, unless you have only the bench and a few chairs it never returns, it spent all the time sitting and sleeping, and some times dissapearing.

When you get annoyed enough by things you should control but you dont, you just destroy them and build them again.
