So with the recent patch, several mods have issues working correctly. Feats, recipes and even items no longer show for players or in the admin panel. Recently, more than a few of the more popular modders have made the suggestion that servers and players, alike, turn off the mod cache -for now-.
There is some debate that this will cause major corruption issues in server data if and when a solution to this is found between funcom and the modders it is currently working with.
My question is: Will this cause harm? Is this solution a good one until a fix is found? And if servers choose -not to- use this temporary work around – will keeping those mods on that are missing items/feats/recipes cause corruption as well?
Final question: What would you, Funcom, suggest to us for a workaround for now?
The “workaround” where mod authors are informing people on how to turn off the cache was given by a Funcom dev to begin with. So, there ya go.
Don’t see why it would. I wrote an extensive explanation about the whole thing on my discord (don’t really feel like typing it up all over again here. You can find the exact info on the BBB discord in the announcements channel). It’s basically just a file path problem where the caching file isn’t storing the mod controller location correctly. Easily fixable by anybody with Notepad.
