UE4 Fatal error

Basic Info:

Platform: Steam
Issue Type: Crash
Game Mode: Single Player
Server Type: PvE
Map: Exiled Lands
Server Name: None
Mods: None

Bug Description:

After upgrading my PC with another 16 gigs of RAM taking it upto 32 now every time I try to load Conan it gets past the launcher but just before the splash screen for UE4 and the intro movie it throws up a Fatal Error on UE4 engine. If I ignore it and let it dominate the screen the intro movie still loads, still reaches the main menu and I can still enter servers and create characters, even play the game but the damn error is dominating the screen and one click and it shuts everything down.

Bug Reproduction:

I added RAM, that is all. I have confirmed it is recognized by the BIOS and Windows. Done the Windows memory test to confirm it is fine and other steam games work great. I have uninstalled the game, tore out the remaining files left behind, had no mods and even reinstalled Nvdia drivers all for naught.

Have you tried reverifying your local game files since the upgrade? Sometimes that will clear errors like this.

I uninstalled the game, then reinstalled it, then verified as well.

There are a couple more things in this list you could try:

After two full reinstalls I have made progress. The trick was to uninstall then dig into the files left behind, the ini’s, saves and such. Find their hiding spot and delete the whole folder of what was left.

I am making progress and made it into single player once more. I thank those who responded for their help.

Be safe out there in Hyboria.
