I am playing on a single player server in a PVE environment. My building decay settings are off. Sorry this post is a long one.
So yesterday I wanted to try out various building designs that I’ve seen featured in videos. As I didn’t have the resources to build one of these, I chose the build without cost option in the server settings. I went about building a nice new base just outside sepamaru I had a lot of fun, trying the tool and being able to build a base to my satisfaction plus I discovered a lot of stuff that you can and cannot do. Everything was fine and I played for a few hours after completing the base and then log off for the night. In the morning, when I logged in at the base, it simply disappeared, and went poof, dropping a whole bunch of loot bags. I knew I had to grab these quickly and said about doing so, but was quickly over encumbered and could not move quickly.
I ended up, losing a lot of the stored materials and some of the thralls that were attached to that specific workstation. My placed thralls all remained, however.
I did notice yesterday after I had built the base and gone off-line for a while when I logged back in outside the tavern in sepamaru it took a while for all the NPC’s load in
I thought oh well it was a free base no great loss and a few items and resources I can always get back. I waddled over to a small outpost I had built with a couple of wheels of pain nearby. I built a half dozen boxes and filled them up so I could move again.
I went back to my primary base, which is located in the noob river area, not far from the sentinels. As I approached my base, which had all been built from scratch the honest way with everything in it, earned and farmed and watched it go poof. I quickly gathered up what bags I could but as that base was chock-full of goodies I quickly hit inventory max and couldn’t pick up anything else. I did try to build a few boxes to throw stuff in, but they each immediately showed “decayed” in red and disappeared within four or five seconds. I probably lost half the contents of my base because I simply couldn’t pick it up. Again any placed thralls remained, but I only recovered the thralls who were in the bags I was able to pick up. Otherwise any crafter at his station disappeared when I couldn’t pick up their bag. Three buildings remained an altar of set my stable and the greater wheel of pain. They weren’t in the same spot and scattered about the area. The base was in so their remaining had no pattern to it.
I tried rebuilding the base, but after laying a few foundation stones, a half dozen boxes and an alchemy station so I could brew the attribute potion and change my expertise so I could move unencumbered without hindrance. Not five minutes into this particular endeavor. It all went poof again. at this point, anything I tried to build, simply disappeared. Items would say, decayed, and foundation stones would simply break immediately.
At this point, I moved to a completely different location and tried building a new base after all I was weighed down with a ton of resources. Same problem everything I try to build whether it’s a foundation or a box simply breaks or disappears after a few seconds.
At this point, I moved a long distance away and tried building again. Same problem. I read about similar issues happening to other people who were playing on solo servers due to loading issues and I reasoned that all the items I now had on my character was creating a localized problem in building anything new. So I dumped a whole bunch of stuff in an effort to allow the load situation to ease up so I could establish a new base. It didn’t work. I tried completely uninstalling the game from my Xbox series X waited some time rebooted it a few times reloaded Conan exiles, and the problem persists.
I’ve tried everything I could think of to solve it but now my character is permanently bugged in the single player mode. Does anybody have a workable solution other than uninstalling the game permanently?
I am pretty ticked off right now, considering the time I put into the game and money to have this occur.
