Uneven levels of "ground level" for items/foundations

Game mode: Online private
Type of issue: Bug / Other?
Server type: PvE
Region: EU
Mods?: I’d like to, but sadly - the admins say “NO” :frowning:
Edition: Steam

Bug Description:

I’ve noticed it multiple times that various items - from decos to crafting benches (new ones especially) seem to either “sink”, or “float above” what is visually the “ground level”. It surely is not a game breaking bug, though might be relatively easy to fix (depending on how the game architecture has been designed, that is…).

Would it be please possible to have the items/building foundation pieces be “zeroed in” on some acknowledged level, instead of the visible model be “off” those 1-2 pixels either above or beneath the collision model’■■■■■ box.

Example for a sandstone (same with stonebrick) foundation & plant tannery station:

From what I recall, similar problems could be observed with some T3 pieces, i.e. - the Khitan foundations - as well. In that case however, it seemed like the model was “hovering” a bit over the ground though.

Another example of that is the large Khitan gateway, which has a visible space in between itself and any doors placed - makes no contact at all. This does not seem to persist in other gateways, like stonebrick or Yamatai though.

Expected Behavior:

A station placed on the ground actually makes visual contact to it - as shown in the example below:

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Place some area covered in stonebrick/khitan foundations
  2. Place something like the plant-based tannery.
  3. Check the discrepancy in levels between what the placeable object considers “ground”, and what the foundation visual is.
  4. Maybe add some 1-3 “scroll wheel ticks” area of height, in which the placeable considers it still being “on the ground”, to be able to manually adjust the height to the correct visual collision themselves?
