Game mode: Online private Type of issue: Bug Server type: PvE Region: Oceania
Using the basic Truncheon on T4 Exiles thralls deals more health damage to them than stun. This means you cannot capture a T4 Exiles thrall if you only have access to the Truncheon. Regular T1-III Thralls don’t seem to have this problem when being hit by the Truncheon.
Using an Iron or Steel Truncheon its possible to knock out a T4 without killing them.
Tested on a vanilla server with no mods, update 2.2.1
Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:
Craft basic Truncheon
Go to map ref I4 as there is a guaranteed spawn for T4 Exiles named thralls
My thought is that maybe you are not supposed to have T4 thralls at level 10. At level 21, you can craft a blunted javelin. At level 26, you can craft a simple blunted fitting for your truncheon. At level 30, you can craft an iron truncheon. It seem to me that this is just a part of the progression curve.
This has been an issue for a little while, and not just w/named thralls. Slowly beating someone to death while trying to recruit them for employment is profoundly frustrating. A couple of things I’ve found that (usually, not always) help:
Make sure you have the first perk in Strength.
Add the concussive damage mod (I can’t remember what its actual name is) to your truncheon.
However you can knock out a t4 thrall with the basic truncheon, it’s just not easy.
One of the first things I do when I join a server is go to the area by the broken bridge. Kill the named thralls there until I have a few pieces of medium armour.
then as soon as I can build a wheel I KO one of these t4 and break it on the wheel.
You have to stop hitting it until it heals up a bit, the KO bar does not heal unless you let the thrall reset.
So you just need to kite the thrall and let it gain health back.
This should not be taken as my saying everything is alright. I 100% believe this should not be necessary and all truncheons should do less health damage than concussive damage.
