We need an official Conan API to pull item data (weapons, stations, thralls etc)

For the longest time Conan was in somewhat low level stasis, from 2018 until the era of the Battle Pass and monetization. Thralls and weapons were rarely nerfed, or would come in large waves spread enough apart that the community could adapt info posted on the net.

With the Advent of monetization the game began changing much more rapidly, and the Conan Wiki has become horrendously out of date. Players and community contributors have given up trying to post up to date info as the game changes far too often

If we had an official item API where we could access stats on any number of items, we could, as a player base, have an easier time understanding how the game is evolving.

Imagine otherwise having to data mine every single weapon, armor and thrall whenever there’s a major update just to see what’s changed.

All information is in the modding kit. Download it and have fun.

No it hasn’t. Item stats are datamined and generated on the wiki within days of every new patch.

I feel like this lie is a personal insult against Testerle and the underappreciated work that he does to provide current data that people like you can’t even recognize for what it is.

It’s not my intention to evoke an emotional response or personal attack, so I will remain neutral in stating I have the right to point out what I see without having to fear it will upset anyone, which it shouldn’t.

There are portions of the wiki which are incredibly out of date. Some things even pre- or early Sorcery. I don’t wish this to devolve into a tit for tat “prove it” scenario, which I won’t do.

Such statements can be made without insulting the time or effort of contributors. Contributors can’t do everything perfectly, I don’t expect them to, I don’t hold them up to failure, I don’t hold them accountable. Who would I be to judge the efficacy of a wiki contributor when I don’t edit it myself. The idea my statement is a lie/insult is therefore unneeded here.

I would return to my original idea that if there was a more convenient API of some sort, the stress and expectations of the players to data mine files themselves would be relieved, and we wouldn’t have to hold everything to some generous peoples’ free time. Saying it would be nice for the devs to offer a more efficient means to data, does not equal diminishing the effort of those who do their best in the meantime.
