What is going on? New patch. Things still on fire. No comms at all

I am posting this again. I cannot access Private Dedicated Server v 1.7.9.
LAN cannot see it
It was running before I clicked update this morning
I cannot restart the server - it just hangs there - so I have to force quit
I have removed all mods to test - nothing - same result
I can open a single player game so its got to be something with the Dedicated Server.

ANY help would be appreciated.

Don’t expect insta-replies by Funcom as they have to check the logged issues out, test that they are on the game-engine side, etc. before doing any response (they have responded early before and just made things worse).

In regards to any/all private servers, especially when mods are used, Discord is best to keep tabs on things for Admins. The issue of private and modded servers not displaying in the server listing has been widely reported and I am sure that Funcom are looking at it.

Am fully expecting the usual Hotfix to resove that - or at least formal feedback after they have checked it out.

Almost every Update since 1.0 has been followed by at least one Patch (sometimes more), and then a Hotfix. I’m not offering excuses on their part, but acknowledging that Conan runs on multiple platforms and herding all those cats together will not be fun). Be sure that there is much screaming, ranting, raving, and cycles on the Wheel over in the Funcom offices right now.

They should do a lot more testing before rolling out broken updates that they know are broken and that they know they’ll have to fix later, they don’t need to rush them out the door half-baked.

In agreement, but also, with such a varied-platform and format game, I imagine that the focus is to get the Official servers working, and then to make sure the Private Unmodded server evvironment also works.

The moment Mods appear in the mix, bets are less on the table, and are certainly not on Funcoms plate but rather on Modders’ sides. There is NO testing from Funcom regarding mods - nor should there be. Keep checking the respective mod channels for the mods you have on your server(s). If the issue is indeed some more errant code on Funcom’s side, expect another patch/hotfix once they’ve checked, validated, scheduled and rolled it out.

It’s not a mod issue.

I started a new test server, no old DB, no old Modlist.
I did add the same mods the live sever runs and that test rig boots in less then 10 min.

Had it been a mod issue, that would taken 1 hour as the live one.

It’s a Game DB issue, since when I view the logs, it looking for mods that not even there anymore, and all the time the None issue comes up.

Depends.
Yes, it is the mod content in the database that is being affected and causing the huge delays.
Yes, many items that the modders have used in their mods will need recooking and need updates.
But, there are some modded servers that have NOT had the long boot up period. I have a server running the Savage Wilds modded map. The mod database does not appear in the same place, or under the same filename, as teh exiled lands database. Players are already playing on that server without issue. The server has identical mods on it as my other servers.

Logic suggests then that there was something that did not appear in the Update, but did appear in the Patch yesterday that caused this.

Also, yes, wiping the server will absolutely resolve this issue in the main, but it doesn’t resolve the issue itself.

Note: Patches and hotfixes never hit the beta server. Once again the beta server is builds behind live, and none of these are tested by players on a public server.
