Whatever this “update” was, I currently cannot see my dedicated private server. Even though it’s running. It was working 100% fine, prior to the update.
yeah after repeated restarts of the our server it is not being seen on our LAN and it was right up until the restart.
Taking it as granted the pvt server was updated as well, etc?
Have you tried linking directly via the IP address - sometimes fave servers in the list are somehow reset so connecting via IP address is quicker. Next time you go in, it should be at the top of the list and you can re-Favourite it.
Thanks for your thought Grumm. There’s absolutely nothing there, unfortunately. My wife and I have linked like this for close to a year. The issue began the moment we updated the game this morning.
- The server stopped being able to restart, resulting in me having to quit several times or just restart the comp
- I’ve deleted the mods from the modlist, restarted and still it cannot be seen on LAN
- On restart I see that SteamCMD says it’s up to date. So I am not sure what more I can do there either.
search your serverlog for “none” and the bits where it says this may take time
Each mod take about 1 min to “load” after this crap, it took my server 1 hour to load so you could play, so another mess by FC again.
Yes, sadly… Here also 1 hour 30 minutes what normally takes 5 minutes. Here at us only Exiled Lands and Savage Wilds have this issue while Siptah and Stygia start fast as usual…
I know a few trying lots of things, including me, one solution “can” be wipe, due to database being corrupt, but we aren’t sure yet.
I’ve been messing around and testing.
I’ve opened a single player game that has all of the same mods from my dedicated server and it ran. I summoned a bunch of thralls and benches. Tossed them down they went to work and then rested.
Ok so I thought. maybe I can then bring over my Dedicated Private Server game file but upon trying to open it, it did not open and in fact froze my system.
Tried again without any mods and it froze my system again.
Deleted the save that I ported over and now its running again.
So whatever they did, affected the actual game db file for the dedicated private server it seems.
I REALLY hope they havent done something that could have broken the world completely. I suppose if the recent save is corrupted or broken or something, we could go back to a previous save and open that up with a bit of roll back?
But as of now, my dedicated private server is dead.
I am seeing a lot of this in the log

20 second search for an asset?
This is all WAY over my head but it sounds like things are loading REALLY slow since the patch. Likely a mod? But with things loading so slow I guess the LAN cant see it because its not yet loaded. And who knows how long it would take to load?
My wife and I have a server just for us and we have two large camps essentially. Everything was running SO smoothly and loading in seconds. After the update. CRAWL.
Its just hard to fathom how so many mistakes can be made. Honestly I am hoping its a mod issue so you at Funcom can be off the hook but This is BAAAAAD. the game is on fire right now and after the amount of time we’ve put in (and countless others) it would be tragic to see it go up in flames. I truly hope you Funcom folks can get your act together and put out this fire soon.
Mine is the same… I have 2 dedicated servers through G-Portal a Siptah Server and a Exiled Lands server - The Siptah server with the mods is working fine, i can see it in the server list, and connect and play fine… The exiled lands server doesn’t show up at all… i tried deleting all the mods from the Gportal side, still doesn’t show up… been like this at least for 8 hours.
Gportal tried moving the server to a different IP/port… still didnt fix the issue. Gportal have decided its a mod issue (Even though i deleted all the mods and still doesnt appear). and are basically just saying wait for mod updates.
Im thinking of backing up the server, Deleting the server from the cloud, and making a new one, and importing the saves. THis is really annoying
There are a number of similar comments out there re private Exiled Lands servers, so am guessing there is indeed something that FC added/didn’t add to the patch that has messed something up. I imagine that there may be a hotfix in the pipe? Who knows. Weirdly, my Savage Wilds server works fine. The only difference there is the name of the database. Will see if that is a thing today.
I was looking again at the logs and saw entries again, like these:

These are all mods that I had but no longer have. So I dug down into steamapps > workshop > content > 440900 on the dedicated server folder, program files folder and the program files folder on the laptop that connects to the server desktop via LAN and saw that in each instance there were old mod folders. I compared them to the specific line by line modlist items that I have and removed the old ones.
All folders now are identical but upon reboot I still see those errors listed above. So I’m really confused.
I’ll do the same thing on my wife’s comp to see if it has anything old on it.
I’m not sure if this is related but I am learning that when a mod is no longer subscribed to, doesn’t remove it completely.
doesnt matter if you remove mods theres still references to them in you database funcom have pretty much touched upon every im sure every placable and npc in any mod ever made with this update and they wont be doing anything as theyre officials run
Yeah, the only solution I’ve found is, Wipe it all and start over.
Unless FC fix this ain’t much I see we can do to solve it.
Won’t be doing anything? I hope that is not true. They have a lot of dedicated private server users. They offer it as their product. I’m hoping they do something about it so players like us are not left having to wipe literally thousands of hours invested time and energy.
have to wait on modders reactions to this mate we have 8 servers running with 4 years of work., on the unannounced update meant 5 of them updated themselves without us being able to do backups so have older ones only,we removed aoc over a year and oddly found a remnant of that mod in the dbase coming up as an error they have literally touched upon eveything with this messup
Yeah. I’ll keep an eye on the discords and close tabs here on the forums as well. I mean we like this game SO MUCH, that we are seriously considering a cataclysm happens and we merge our two settlements into one by starting from scratch and having several days of just resummoning what we have. thankfully we literally have spreadsheets on every character in our cities. Its the character looks that would be the issue.
We’ve even created a GPT historian to document the timeline of our setting. Its pretty awesome and we hope to share it one day but it can be a little inaccurate with recalling info with prompts.
But yeah, we are seriously considering that as a storyline event for our world if this cant be fixed. Just hoping it can be.
and that is not an excuse funcom. Help us dedicated private server folks out.
