What is the #1 thing you’d like the devs to fix? Not looking for right or wrong answers or silver bullets, or arguments about what they can or can’t fix, just curious about what’s most important to others - even if we believe nothing can or will ever be done about it.
For me, if they fixed the “falling through foundations” issue - which now seems to be mainly just me and certain thralls waking up inside foundations (as opposed to the whole server suddenly falling through their foundations like we were experiencing previously) - I’d really feel like playing my favourite game again instead of just refreshing every week.
As it is, every single time I log in to refresh, and see my character buried up to the waste in foundations, and my guards completely invisible inside their foundations… I just stare blankly and tell myself to hurry up and get it over with. Or wish I would stop procrastinating… and just stop refreshing.
So what is your #1 issue with the game?
Edit: thanks so much to people who just came here to fight or to fan the flames of other peoples’ fights, was enjoying everyone’s answers till the thread was locked. Great effort.
The most infuriating bug for me is the knocked out thralls disappearing below ground.
You hunt high and low for a really good thrall. You get beaten to within an inch of your life. You finally knock out the thrall. Then what happens . . . . pooph they disappear.
Logging out then back in doesn’t always work.
Even with all the bugs I still love playing the game.
I live by a simple philosophy: Change what you can, accept what you can’t, and just get on with it.
I play single player and can grab them via the admin panel. And still, it’s just annoying to have to cheat to claim a reward you gained honestly. In multiplayer, this bug would likely have had me quit the game a long time ago.
I think it would awesome if they made the Lightning Storm spell and the Call of of The Dead spell stronger. They are much too weak to be the types of spells that they are.
Personally I’m beyond caring. I’ve dealt with the in-game bugs and glitches for so long that it’s just background noise now.
If the servers were my responsibility and I had the means my first priority would be the current server instability closely followed by stopping the hacks and cheats.
Interesting to see how different bugs affect us each, depending on the way we play.
I play mostly MP so the disappearing thralls are a pita for me (except if I’m on my own MP server).
The MP servers I play on are Private servers and seldom have connection problems. I don’t play Officials so hackers/cheaters/bad connections don’t affect me.
I don’t use a horse so their genda doesn’t bother me.
I don’t use Sorcery so Sorcery problems don’t affect me.
I hope others add to this list as it gives us an insight as to how we all play the same game so differently.
A personal pet peeve of mine that i encountered when i first started playing years ago is when climbing up the edge of a structure at its top, your character wont mantle it (pull themselves up to the top) your character just cancels climbing and falls, and then i panic grab on to the structure and then keep trying to climb to the top, my character ends up doing this hopping motion at the edge of this stricture until i run out of stamina and fall. This seems to strictly be structures that are part of the map like the buildings in the Unnammed City or Sepemaru, it never happens to player built structures.
Since I build/rebuild a lot, I can confidently say that this happens quite often with player buildings. It even killed me a few times when I ran out of stamina and fell.
This thing is really annoying and would definitely be high on my list of things to fix.
But back to the topic at hand—it’s hard to say
Server status?
AI NPC?
Things from the bazaar/BP that not only don’t work offline but sometimes decide not to work at all?
Falling through the floor?
Fighting from horseback, which has been nerfed over the years of modifications as a whole?
I would probably focus on some of the features that CE has and others don’t, or don’t have their combination, and thus make CE unique.
So, combat from horseback, which has its flaws but was originally almost on par with Mount & Blade
Heavy lance, which was nerfed to uselessness due to PVP, even though it no longer has any justification?
Damage to horse stamina, which no one has adjusted after the big NPC damage buff, which means almost immediate dismount for high-level NPCs?
Horse AI as a whole, which, until “fixed,” rushes into battle when mounted
Maybe I would even give horses the ability to fight back.
Building, whose bugs are well known and not worth going into detail about.
NPC companions and their problems.
For me personally, the world of Conan is of course a matter close to my heart. Long ago in the nineties, Conan the Barbarian was the first “Western” comic book I ever read, and the movie… no need to comment, just something amazing.
And now there’s a game from that world, with a truly unique combination of features i like, as I mentioned, exist individually elsewhere (and often work better), but only CE has them all together.
TLDR - the game is so buggy that it’s hard to pick just one bug.
Just in case for those who didn’t know: There is a little trick to help with that. Hold the “jump” key while climbing. When your character reaches the edge of whatever you’re climbing, he/she will then jump onto the top.
It doesn’t work all the time, though.
Credit goes to Wak4863 (or Firespark81?), who - if I remember correctly - spread that hint (before Funcom had an unfortunate falling out with them).
Inventory handling. Complete unnecessary changes were made, broken beyond repair since then. Can’t tell how many stacks of gnarled teeth or armour scraps or sorcerer skulls or some legendary stuff i have inadversely dropped before i finally gave in and check every verdammten loot bag before leaving it.
And no, the “workarounds“ like keep inventory unsorted all the time are crap. Fix it!
funny way to use the word addiction , while being so addict yourself , than when you don’t get your “fix” of frowny faces then you start flooding the forum asking for it ….
One thing I’ve noticed with this issue is that it doesn’t happen in single player - only online. (Let me know if I’m wrong on this). Fairly sure it also happens more often when ping is high / server is struggling with too many players / etc. Definitely a frustrating one though.
