What items are now obsolete?

Exactly :metal:.
Another way i use it, is for making putrid meat when i need to fix the shade bloom recipe for animals. It seems to work good on queen locust production.

It still drops on Siptah .

Unnecessary items are numerous stuffed animals that drop from corpses.
I wonder who came up with the idea that warriors and savages carry stuffed animals with them? It would be better if their armor dropped!

i forget, do all named blacksmiths have the iron reinforc 》syeel reinforce recipe? If so, then that gives them a major use in t3 building. If not, then i agree, marginal at best for bladesmith.

What’s wrong with bladesmith?
They still do what they did, right?

Is it just more that legendary weapons have better stats than you can get from a bladesmith crafted weapon?

Yes, in a nutshell.

Legendaries were made “legendary” again.

We do have to consider a few issues though. There is only 1 legendary drop for a great axe on EL and is very difficult to obtain.

So, based on current PVP meta, the great axe is one of the preferred weapons. A bladesmith is required to make good starmetal great axes… But blacksmiths for whatever reason have super low rng. So, you look sometimes all day+ for 1.

To farm legendaries is stupidly easy. Kill easy boss naked, get key, open chest in dungeons. No problem. You can do this low level.

But for crafted weapons to be viable you need the super rng’d bladesmith + good tools + rng’d starmetal + blackice + brim + leather + insulated wood. And also the levels to learn the knowledge. If you want efficiency you also need a carpenter and T3 benches, both in time and resource cost.

Sure legendaries are better (usually) again but not exactly balanced when you consider everything.

On t3 crafting stations you get a 1 to 1 ratio steel/iron bar to steel/iron reinforcements.
No bladesmith needed for that.
Per bar you get one reinforcement …

Was that what you meant, or did i misunderstand your question?

Meaning for steel reis production in general. So they’re right that blacksmiths, regardless of type are still useful.

Ok thanks @Kikigirl

I use a bladesmith and I hadn’t noticed any changes or issues to what they do

But it’s compared to the outside wider world. So yeah big picture I guess. But I’ve just been keeping on with what I normally do with star metal stuff. I’m on PvE and at end game with lots of goodies so dealing with the list of requirements aren’t an issue :+1:

The sickle of Thag it’s called if the translation is correct. Only Thag drops that, and he can drop three legendaries in total… or none if you’re really unlucky.

As for thag, I’m really unlucky, I had to go to the wine cellar no less than fifty times with no results.
To return to the main subject , obsidian weapons are useless just like snake weapons, why go to the skeltos dungeon to use a forge which will give less effective weapons than those made of star metal.

Probably I’m not giving you any news, but to farm Thag all you need to do is run through the dungeon without engaging, fight the skeletons near the final room and face Thag. Wait for respawn, rinse and repeat.

Yes the Scythe of Thag.

Perfect way to put it? I noticed hardened steal weapons are more effective, or at least completes a tier of shared resources to make them. There, it sounds like fun.

Open your eyes, dude, open your eyes!

Oh I remember one. Shield damage and AP. just why if durability is all that matters?

Of course you don’t have to clear the whole dungeon, but Thag has a1 hour respawn timer!
So… doesn’t matter if you clear the dungeon meanwhile or do something else… if you want the scythe of Thag so desperately.

Out of all crafted weapons black ice and obsidian SHOULD be the strongest, we are only allowed to craft them in those specific locations. And we have to bring various components with us.

I’m currently playing on EL and at some point I got the Morning Sun axe. At least kill me, I don’t remember which boss it dropped from! But it’s in the chest…

But with a named you get 1 steel reinforcement for every 1 iron reinforcement + 1 steelfire. meanin 1/5th iron needed for building.

As far as I recall, that also works with tier 3 blacksmiths (think it was changed during the big crafting update a couple of years back)

The sorcerer’s head have no function. It could be used to make a strong spell, for example.
