I know that I mentioned it before, but just in case, I envy you. I wish I could play in a server with my son. One day, I guess, one day…
That is one thing I did not mention, but which is so true; how dangerous the game feels. You always have to be careful, but this keeps the game fresh at all times. I mean even bosses I have fought before, purges I have already seen and dungeons I have traversed a million times are always exciting and make my heart pound. That is one thing that every single other video game I have played has never done; stay exciting for so long.
I do not think I have ever ‘Liked’ so many posts in one thread.
Swimming and Horse and Climbing. The animations are simply remarkable and they add subtle reality to already immersive game play.
Other favourites amongst many, many others for me:
- Sunsets and sunrises;
- Hidden Easter egg items and places - grave-sites, thralls named after content providers;
- Seamless mod support (and a truly amazing Modding Community);
- Excellent combat motion;
- Ability to follow storyline, or just play open-world;
- Meeting so many diverse, similar minded people from all over the World;
- Actually being panicky when it is dark - the croc-brain in all humans love that frisson of fear;
- Thralls, beasties, beautiful landscapes, etc.
I’ve thrown nearly 7.5 k hours at this game. I started when it was in early Early Access and have not looked back. I cannot remember if I ever bothered to actually complete the Exiled Lands. I know I got all the items, but the game is just too much fun. I look forward to 3.0 and whatever it holds for us. There is no other game that has stayed relatively close to the Conan genre.
I also remember way, way back (Robert E. Howard’s son?grandson? completely endorsing the game as (mostly) adhering to the core storyline.
Oh, and also a special shout to the Builders out there and to Funcom and their Build competitions. Astounding quality. Absolute immersion. (…and here endeth the ravings)
This thread makes me misty…
Atmosphere and crafting/building. Music is great. Scenery is great. Building makes fun.
Sandbox/Do what you want-when you want- in which time you want.
It is nice to relax and speed down. Diving and swimming, getting wood,… feels like really
being in nature. This makes fun.
Rest- much other stuff and how Funcom acts- makes not so much fun.
I have to say that how Funcom acts doesn’t make me feel to buy other stuff from them, as
they have great ideas but seem not to be interested to take the time to finetune and optimise,
they rather go on to a new project. But this new project will be the same. So… if I know that a
company looses interest ihn their own product so fast I tend to ignore further titles…
This is a snowball game of time. At some point a company is known to be this or that.
And people which are not diehard fans will say, no thanks, not again.
It’s all fun and games until I come home and he tells me that his solo adventures into Warmaker’s Sanctuary resulted in the loss of a level 20 thrall to the Arena Champion >.<
@DelRioServerMaster
Well, you have to see the bright sight here. It’s better to have this kind of news, than, dad at the time I was driving your car a tree tried to cross the street and I just couldn’t avoid it … .
Better to ruin your things in gaming life than real. After all when I was kid I did my share of damaging my father’s things, I guess… Payback time.
Very true!
I just wish he hadnt taken my favorite Greater Wolf. She was named after our RL family puppy and i havent had good RNG luck in replacing her
Oh trust me I know the feeling. Especially when I try to speak to him and his denial starts from my very first words before even I complete my sentence…
I hope God will give us years to witness our grandson doing exactly the same thing to him . I surely wish you this my dear friend .
It’s actually hilarious when the kids yell at the screen “Get him, Koko! Get him!” and then she comes running into the room like “WTF do you people want now?”
Well for the last weeks I was trying to play other things. Disciples Liberation, very fun and dungeons and dragons like, and The Cruel King and the Great Hero, very cute game
But while I am playing them, I miss farming aloe plants and building things. I keep going back to Conan. It is kind of like a curse actually, because I do not play anything else, but that certainly has to say something for it.
This.
I tried FarCry Primal and just gave up because of the first person view only. I hate it.
And this.
The rest of my “positive” feedback goes to the graphics arts teams, for just killing it visually. They basically ruined me on other games, because I have yet to find one with the amazing graphics of CE.
For me the building system is fantastic. Love the freedom to design.
Love the fight animations, sword wielding etc.
Love the biomes in the map, from sand to jungle to snow.
Love the siege warfare mechanics.
Love swimming in the water (it’s always the simple things that amuse)
Lol that’s it? Just boobs and junk?
Dude…
Oh yes, the music.
I keep asking for that CD album😂
We invited a couple of brothers who have basically been building offline too our server what has been done in a day is incredible yes gave admin but my brain could not come up with what has been done. This will give others a look to what can be done. Building is key. Will send pictures later.
