I always strive to understand why Funcom changes things that no one was asking to change. All the players I know (I’m RP/PvE) really value chest organization and keeping everything organized is a fundamental part of gameplay. Now all my chests are a mess. There are times when I think that Funcom has started a process of sabotaging its own game.
It didn’t stick. That’s the thing… it loses my sort when I go from one kind of sort to another. That would be a “custom sort”, but it got removed???
It’s only a cash grab if you hand them your cash to grab.
Start a pole “role back stack split”.
I know what to expect of funcom so I’ll wait till it’s on sale for $20. Maybe.
This is really beginning to tick me off something fierce. However, I did find ONE thing that has not changed in this update… the randomness of the crashes (grey screen of death). Of course I have “lost” my sort when I logging back in from said crash. Which really, really sucks as I am out in the world without materials to build a chest to help ‘organize’ what shouldn’t need to be organized.
You have to re organize your inventory, but just once. Its annoying but not the end of the world.
It does not stay. If you are in the habit of swapping to Heaviest to get rid of the heaviest things… it forgets your previous organizaiton.
It’s not a one and done.
I cannot LOVE this comment enough! WTH was someone thinking when they said, hey let’s enable Right mouse click to half your selected inventory instead of having to hit a button - it will mean you can no longer move the exact amount you want but who needs that!? EVERYONE. EVERYONE needs that! What a step back on quality of life. Between that and the inability to organize S&*() has my OD running away screaming. To whomever said they were buying Dune - WHY? Why are you supporting this level of dysfunction???
Certainly leaves room to reconsider.
This is the only game where I dread new content being added…
This chapter took away more than it added… and what they did add isn’t worth the loss…
I really wanted to play and enjoy Dune… but with this team developing it… I am not optimistic…
oh no not The Dennis
No one has talked about this, so maybe it’s just my problem, but… the game is a little laggy when using the current interface…
for me on xbox inventory does not save your own sorting/arrangement and just stays with the last sorting option before going to “no sorting”, and that with every relog, and every sorting you do. so if you want to have your own managment in your inventory you are screwed… what the fu**
I access the forge and see that all the items have been resorted and I never left it that way.
me - Hey bro, did you resort all the forge inventory?
him - Nope, definitely not. Let me go look.
me - well it’s all changed now. Odd…
me - Whoa! It all just now changed!
me - What is your sorting set to?
him - It’s by type.
me - hmm, okay…I’m going to change it back to no sorting. Now open it again.
him - Okay, just opened it again.
me - You’ve got to be kidding me!!! It just overwrote all of the inventory while I was watching it!!! Whyyyyyyyyyy did they do this?!?!?!?!?!?!
So, this is REALLY, REALLY DUMB! Who thought this was a good idea?!?!? I can’t put into words how stupid this is.
Let’s add that splitting a stack is a bit of a time sink! Split the 200 stack…oh I get 100. Split it again and it cuts the stack in half now giving me 150?! I have to move that new stack to stop it from stacking up the same new stack? What!!! Is there a video tutorial to show me how this new debacle works!!! How do I get a 100 stack from…say…a stack of 2493? Can somebody show me that?
And I don’t get to shift-click to get the option to say how much I want!!! This is like…what…Diablo 1 style!!!
This…right here…is a massive disappointment to me.
There is a customized setting but the issue is that it’s not a default and it will reset to the default (type) occasionally. Since the customized inventory isn’t saved you have to rework your inventory everytime it happens.
If the devs are lurking here, can we recommend that you put the customized inventory as the default so that people don’t lose their organization when the code gets funk and reset the selection?
That isn’t the issue. The issue is that if you, or ANYONE ELSE, sets their OWN inventory to another setting, then THAT bench that THEY open will change the sort of the inventory for EVERYONE, regardless of THEIR sort order, being it None, Custom (which no longer exists), Type or whatever. Changing it back to NO SORT does absolutely NOTHING for the current layout of the items it contains. You must resort them manually back to what you had them at before it was sorted. So setting it to the default does nothing except for you. As soon as somebody else opens the bench/box and they do not have No Sort set to the default, then ALL of the inventory is resorted…for everyone.
We have decided to set all our sort types to No Sort and to NEVER use the sort option again until it is fixed by Funcom.
So they know. Or actually, they KNEW it would be broken and KNEW that we would be angry about it. Huh!!! I found a post by the game director talking about fixing this in a…future…patch.
This has to be the best thing to hit PVP in years… LOL Break into someones base, click on all the benches to auto resort their inventories and then leave.
