Bug Description:

Since the game went over the 700.000 build piece mark, any attempt to start a new session, the game’s memory, which is actually our system’s memory, shoots up to 99% in Windows Task Manager, for it only to render itself stuck in that state forever.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Build until there are over 700.000 build pieces in the game
  2. Plop over 33.000 placeables and some 5.000 followers
  3. Exit the game then start a new session
  4. During loading, call up Windows Task Manager and watch Conan Exile.exe’s memory shoot up all the way to 99%, rendering the game completely stuck

Greetings Funcom,

Made this account to ask for help with the following issue.

Last weekend our game went over the 700.000 build piece mark, and ever since that time, any attempt to start a new session, the game’s memory, which is actually our system’s memory, shoots up to 99% in Windows Task Manager, for it only to render itself stuck in that state forever.

The game exits normally when pressing ‘Stop’ in Steam, but it will never play again under no circumstances. And since it doesn’t crash, a bug-report cannot be send either. Using the same game save file, this issue occurs both on a laptop and desktop.

Made a video depicting the issue and explaining it in detail, but prefer not to share it out in the open, but send it to you via PM.

I myself think that the game, concerning this particular issue, needs some extra programming on how to best orchestrate our system’s memory when over 700.000 build pieces are already present.

In addition to the build pieces, there are also some 33.000 placeables, an estimate of between 1000 to 5000 followers, 62 mods, and the game save file has grown to some 373.612MB.

The game is stored on an 2T SSD with 952GB of free space, a 13900 with 128 Gigs of RAM, and a 4090 with 24 Gigs of VRAM. W10. In any case lots of memory at its disposal. Steam, Single player.

Also tried to raise/ shrink the Pagefile to no sugar, kept getting the same results in Windows Task Manager.

Now I know how keen you guys are concerning mods but, although strictly guessing, can say with 100% guarantee that the mods are completely innocent.

Before the game crossed the 700.000 mark, it played perfectly fine. It reached 50 - 60 FPS in quiet regions, and some 22 - 29 in most more heavy regions. Perfectly playable.

Really hope you guys can help us out.

Kind regards.

Whenever someone says something like this, I instantly feel like it is almost certainly the mods… :stuck_out_tongue:

I think he mean 700k on the whole server.
Thats 7k for one player if 100 players plays at this server. So nothing they should get banned for on officials.

And I would say some officials has this 700k over all clans and players.
