I just built my first elevator and when I tried to build the lower level entry structure, it wouldn’t let me snap the foundation block to the base of the elevator. It said, “THIS NEEDS TO SNAP TO AN EXISTING BUILDING PIECE.” I know I can just build around it anyway, but it would be nice to have my structure snapped together as one single structure.
It’s not easy now. You have to build some foundations all the way down (or up) to make a single building with an elevator.
Yeah, that’s ultimately what I did. Then tore down the stack of foundations between the lower base and the upper base. But it’s such a waste of resources to do that.
It was asked like more than a year ago, at the first 2 dev streams, there’s probably still the forum post with the Q/A and the answer, @RobTheSwede said it would have been added as a feature request to the trello board, a year have passed and yet not snapping in the lower part of the elevator.
I’m like a dog, I never forget this type of things, and I come back to haunt.
maybe because the elevator bottom isn’t locked to foundation height and some people would build half a base before realizing what they built around the top and the bottom of the elevator wont fit together.
