I need to bring the materials for an improved preservation box with me so i will need 20 mithril bars.
The stack in my chest is 200 big so here we go!
Split 1: 100,100
Split 2: 100,50,50
Split 3: 100,50,25,25
Split 4: 100,50,25,13,12
Split 5: 100,50,25,13,6,6
Split 6: 100,50,25,13,6,3,3
Split 7: 100,50,25,13,6,3,2,1
Add 13+6+1 to make the 20 i need.
Then left click 100, 50, 25,3,2 to get them back in the chest because Quick stack (cool feature!) can’t be used since it would also give back the 20 i need.
Ok now i need 2 insulated wood from a starting stack of a 1000 …
I wonder why someone thought it was a good idea to remove something, or make it so hidden most people cant find, a feature that is present and intuitive in virtually any game known to the gamer community.
It is virtually 99% of the games having inventories with stacks, they have a one click away custom stack split.
You forgot about the annoyance of having to move the cursor to the other stack to get the next split. If you don’t move the cursor, part of the split auto-stacks onto the other split. Making it impossible to get to the 13 - 6 - 1 combo. You will only get two stacks at 1 & 99
Welcome to the 1% game without a custom stack split.
I thought this as well but I’ve seen multiple console players mention that they had the ability to custom select stack size prior to the patch. So they’re equally as affected.
Someone thought no one used that feature and rather than confirming or disproving their bias, they just took it as truth.
Controller on console isn’t that bad. I split and when I split again, the half the split goes into the other pile in inventory and so I just reduce it again and again until I get the amount that’s close enough and grab and go. My OCD kicks in about it not being the exact amount but it is significantly faster than before. The left overs in the benches are collected and put back into their storage containers via quick stack.
Its different and not OCD friendly but it’s something I can get used to.
I have no doubt in a perverted turn of fate, they did it to streamline console and PC features, which is something they tend to do and crap all over both.
Either way I am making my own inventory mod as soon as my modding computer is back from the shop. Wont be counting on that being solved or changed soon.
