I see people saying, “magic doesn’t work like that in the hyborian age” I would really like a reliable source of information instead of just your word…
I say this because it’s hard to look for something that can serve as a source of knowledge for this mass that says they are in favor of the books but don’t mention thulsa doom (not the one in the movie), Tsotha-Lanti or thoth amon…
Thulsa Doom is described by Howard in “The Cat and the Skull” as having a face “like a bare white skull, in whose eye sockets flamed livid fire.” He is seemingly invulnerable, boasting after being run through by one of Kull’s comrades that he feels “only a slight coldness” when being injured and will only "pass to some other sphere when [his] time comes.
And i was talking about the more offensive sorcery, causes why not ? sorcery tends to corrupt its user and dark sorcery tends to be powerful why there is no more eldritch energy spells…i m NOT talking about FIREBALLS and MAGIC MISSILES , they need to make corrupting spells being able to send corruption on others, necromancy and stuff like that…
And dont come here saying “a but there is none like this MIMIMI” and stuff like that, for what they showed us u can call lightning storm and summon a ICE BRIDGE(LOL), thoth-amon can communicate with others using swarms of insects(lol) can commands beast like snakes and alikes…
Again dont come here not saying “in conan there is no magic in hyborian age blah blah blah”, there is magic everywhere in conan exiles, CONAN inspired SWORD AND SORCERY.
I do not believe that anyone said that magic of any sort did not exist in the Hyborian Age, though Thulsa Doom most certainly did no, he exisisted in the Thurian Age.
Yes, if and if you dig a little deeper into Delcardes’ Cat name one single spell in which Thusla Doom cast? Sure, he obviously at some point had cast an illusion to hide the face that he a skull for a face but that was done before the events which took place in the story. During the events of that story he cast a total of…zero spells? In fact he straight up RAN from Kull. So if Thulsa Doom is your shinning example of what magic (sorcery) should look like in Conan Exiles… the devs put far to much effort into 3.0.
But why would you, we have already established that the high and mighty Thulsa Doom has cast ZERO offensive spells and only 1 illusion spell. So where is your “reliable source” for wanting to bastardize the game by adding this in?
Well that is good.
Necromany is about raising the dead, not exactly offensive sorcery. Surrounding yourself with an army of undead minions is more defensive because they serve to basically tank for you. However, I am fairly sure they did mention that they are adding necromatic elements to the game and I am all for that.
And maybe you shouldn’t come here and act like a condescending little ■■■■. There is a difference between adding magic to the game and adding magic to the game that completely breaks lore AND breaks the balance of the game.
So we can certainly have an open discussion on the subject matter, but you seriously need to change your attitude is you hope to accomplish anything fruitful.
