I know its been years since he was first seen, but I am seriously hoping for him to be a new playable avatar at some point. Its not impossible that we may see new religions in-game, so I still have hope for at least a couple more. After all, Zath came as a complete surprise. And like I said, Dagon has actually been seen in-game in one of the Exiled Lands’ dungeons, so Funcom has precedence to add him, perhaps through a Dagon themed Chapter or Age? A new religion to play would definitely go a long way and maybe even bring some more attention and players back to the game.
While my in game character would be vehemently against this ( she’s a fanatical follower of Set) but I agree with this. Allow us to create Lemurians and then allow the Esoteric order of Dagon for players to follow. Perhaps allow for a deep one companion ( your spouse as per the order)
May Set be with you
Dagon too
There are a few other gods who are mentioned, but have no religion, including Gullah, Hanuman, and Jhil. However, they may all be subordinates of Jhebbal Sag, so perhaps it is more understandable for them to not get proper religions.
I don’t think Dagon is likely to be added though. The full lore of what happened in the Sunken City is still something I find difficult to understand, but I think there may be a good reason why Dagon is missing from the Exiled Lands, despite playing a major role during the war.
I think Bel, the god of thieves, was a favored candidate to be added before Zath was selected instead, so Bel may have a pretty good chance of being added.
There are several gods who are also named in certain unimplemented things in the devkit, including Ajujo, Bel, Erlik, Gullah, Gwahlur, Katar, Pteor, and Wiccana. These could be placeholder red herrings, or they could be a sign of things to come.
This one already serves Dagon on every Exiled Lands PvP server.
The Dagon dungeon is where this one takes the rarest of plunder from raiding a clan base and then drops it in the depths, liberating their slaves to the watery depths and gifting piles of Eldarium and Dragon powder to the dwellers in the deep.
Personally, this one would very much like to see a Dagon option. There may be some legal wibbles with the Intellectual property. But if not, we already have a quest for seeking him out, and he has so much more to do with Lemurians than Derketo does.
A perfect companion to a Lemurian build set.
Also, an avatar would be nice and horrific.
Yeah, maybe, maybe not… Just picture your base being wiped out by this thing.
Purrfection.
The humiliation of an absurd looking fish teabagging someone’s vanity monument fills this one with joy. A must do on every server.
Of course, we could also consider an Avatar of Bel.
Some of the ones in the Sunken City definitely do.
Not quite to the same level as the critters in the Vaults of the Drowned, but there definitely are a few that have more than a passing resemblance.
Just a heads up for y’all.
That giant fish being held captive in the sunken city is NOT Dagon.
It is Dagon’s Emissary.
Ishtar being one of them. She literally only has a small treasure statue from a battle pass, yet she’s mentioned throughout Conan lore.
Let’s not forget Erlik from conan lore. I remember Conan using the curse " Erlik blast your eyes!" a few times in some form of media i ant to say the further adventures of conan written by Robert Jordan. There’s also Ajujo I remember seeing a darfari warrior in a Conan comic curse calling Conan " Spawn of Ajujo!" just before being felled by our favourite Cimmerian.
Just as an aside in that comic the Zingaran Pirate Basque the butcher had all of Conan’s drunk crew killed upon boarding and I love Conan’s answer.
" You killed them in their drunken slumber? The poor bastards are going to wake up in hell and not know how they got there!"
EDIT
( I just noticed Tephra’s post and they already named the two i mentioned)
( Defeated exile slinks away)
Ah, but you brought story time, and that has value all it’s own.
I am a person of a certain age. We have many, many stories.
They could also add a new race: Innsmouth people.
More religions would be nice. To give some ideas:
Dagon
- Consumable: improved breathing potion that adds swim speed. Dagon is all about underwater life.
- Armor: Lemurian style, cold resistance and improved damage while swimming
- Weapon: a stronger truncheon. Dagon’s fishfolk likes to interbreed with humans, and I’d assume it’s not all voluntary.
Bel
- Consumable: a potion of invisibility, using the spell as a template
- Armor: a light armor with increased climbing and maybe running speed
- Weapon: daggers with cripple and sever, making it easy to run away from attacks
Elrik
- Consumable: a stone that summons a temporary zombie ally, similar in power to Zath’s spider orb, using the sorcery zombies as a template
- Armor: a modified version of one of the AoS sorcerer-style armors that gives +10% stone harvest
- Weapon: a holy spear with massive stamina cost that makes non-boss undead allied to you for one minute on hit, maximum of four undead at a time
Really?
We need new races for sure!
Once you arrive and begin your ventures in that dungeon:
Listen to the dialog (or read it if you have that enabled).
In this version, the voice refers to his “father”.
A previous version mentioned being sent as his father’s emissary.
First, there should be Sobek religion, since there is active cult of Sobek which (was) involved one of the major lore character of Exile lands.
And Hanuman, of course.
Which character was that?
Xalthar, son of Telith and Tyros the Deathbringer, grandson of The Witch Queen.
