I prefer the previous icons for these indicators. The new ones are very difficult to read by a quick glance.
Being one of the %5 of the male population with color vision deficiency (color blindness) may be a factor. But the simple change from a circular pattern fuel gauge to a top/bottom gauge with changing colors of simulair contrast, is, I think, more of the issue here.
This is a poor UI design decision. Changing the color and contrast of this new version gets a D- grade from me. Please change this for release.
