The fact that nobody knows how long they last is a big fail on Funcoms part. To add to that, the time span is way too short regardless of 2/3/4 days. You have to spend a lot of potions on them to get their stats good for what 2 days of worth? This is a very faulty design.
Really hoping they use common sense and at least make them last 7 days like structures or permanent.
You’re not actually required to minmax their stats. Zombies are more quantity vs quality, that’s why they’re also easy to make. They’re not intended to be the new best thrall, just an alternate option.
What “fact” is that? What do you mean nobody knows how long they last?..
Their lifespan is 2 days… or 172800 seconds… if you want to be super accurate… and they only expire if you have thrall decay turned on in the server settings.
You can most likely also use the ThrallSummonLifespanMultiplier server setting to increase that should you wish to in your ServerSettings.ini
Obviously you can only tweak those settings if you have your own server or you’re playing single-player, officials have the default configuration.
They are also NOT meant to wear armor or weapons, that currently IS a bug, so don’t get used to it… they are not meant to be the “super followers”, they’re meant to be a mindless completely expendable meat shield much like a consumable.
Also, this is what their regular stats are depending on what NPC you put in the grave.
Sooo… I don’t see that faulty design, aside from the current bug with armor slots being enabled, you’re not supposed to get attached to them
Well, considering you can make one with very very little effort, they’re fine for their purpose.
Right now they are super-zombies because one of the previous patches accidentally enabled their equipment slots and they’re balanced for naked combat so obviously they hit like a truck with a weapon (if you look at their damage multipliers at the link I posted above)
I found that one of their best use for “regular” play is purge defense as you can stuff the grave full of thralls and then resurrect them when needed, so if a purge is coming just make a few during the preparation time and they’re quite adequate at tanking most things till you get around to killing them.
I have noticed that zombies can change gender on a server restart. A little bit annoying if you give your pet zombie a specific name, only to find it completely unsuitable the next time you log in.
Can you reproduce that though, because I can see that effort is definitely made to preserve the gender of the zombie and to reload that after restarting the server.
What I can see happening maybe is the gender changing in case of a fresh zombie that’s just been summoned and then the server crashing soon after or some other weird scenario where things can’t be loaded properly. In those cases there are safeguards that if for some reason they cannot retrieve the correct model for them a new random one is generated.
Easy to reproduce in SP if you’re in a hurry. Set thrall decay off, grab a high level zombie via admin (genders are marked), place it, give it a name, exit the game normally then load back in.
Well… this is the thing i suppose, do not blame devs for that, how you gonna balance them any way?
You can get zombi pretty easily with low cost, 20 lvl at start with ton hp and heavy hits?
Plus you can get plenty of them…
From the RP perspective, they are undead and brought to life with some inhuman dark knowledge, they are suppose to decompose anyways…

I got another question for you if I may: the zombie’s STATS (also the hidden multipliers), are they the same with the original live person or totally random?
Because I realized a summoned zombie from Dalinsia sometimes has significantly lower health than a T1 dancer, vise versa.

i mean you can literally spam ton of 20 lvl fighters for cheap and short amount of time
just imagine balance issues\server performance
so no, sorry, they must die, but, it would be cool if they decay randomly, some within hours, some - days or even weeks, we need more surprise elements in this game
what bother me is abyss demons, why they are time limited? if we can lvl them up as normal thralls? any ideas?
Im fine with zombies life span as a trade off for starting level 20.
Demons could be raised to 30mins or an hour though i think.
Same with armor, bow and weapons
