5 Ideas to Improve the Game

I have already answered why if I set up a private, it is impossible to play without the cloud of favoritism ruining my experience. But, i guess that falls on deaf ears that are isolated only to their personal choice, and chime in on “dead” subjects between like minded people who see issues with a particular mechanic, and get combative, thus are the real reason a thread gets derailed.

…don’t use them. No one is forcing you.

I hate the horses. I don’t use them. I’m not going to demand or suggest that they be removed from the game, I will just not utilize them.

People are free to make their own choices.

The single maproom lock-in (so you can teleport to one of your own bases) choice got alot of interesting comments, and the other 4 ideas on the list got only a few–so I relisted them below. How about these items, exiles? I’d really like to know what you think:

  1. Other than the unique items to be had, PVE server players have ZERO perks for maxing a shrine and placing a T4 priest. Design some player or thrall buff that would enhance gameplay. OR have maxed out shrines produce a material that allows players to re-assign armor resistances so that we can wear the style we like and get the armor resistance/buff of our choice!
  2. If not from maxed out shrines with T4 priests, revamp the armor system or enable a costume system as found in many other MMOs. (The armor system is way too limited in concept.)
  3. Thralls: on the Follower list, give us a “Follow” command, so that when our placed thralls are stuck in the architecture we can pull them out. My T4 dancer is currently stuck inside my Mitra Shrine because I tried to place her at the very top–please FREE LUBA THE LUSCIOUS! (or ■■■■■, if you prefer)
  4. Finally, two architectural style improvements: a) Add a Starmetal Blue style! it would be lovely!
    b) Give us architectural style elevator choices–the current style looks hideous with my sophisticated Aquilonian style.

Not necessarily. You just need to find a good moderator. I find it difficult to fathom that there isnt a single unbiased and impartial one out there. Im not sure how they feel about Maprooms, but Barnes has his own ‘Blessings of Set’ server now, or you could hop on and join Cauthey. Alternatively, why not go Admin in your own server? This way you can keep it clean and make sure that no one plays favourites, and put restrictions in place on Maprooms and Thralls. It may end up being a great move in the end.

That is what i am talking about with the cloud. If I am an admin, then i can’t play with a clean conscious.

As for joining others, in general I am on console, and 90% are the exact opposite of what I like. 10x everything, instant this or that, or over top RP (for me).
Out of the 7 I have tried, it always ends up where the admin either blatantly helped certain friends, used it to admin raid and put on twitch like a “real” raid, or constant rules changing. This all goes back to the fact that non-Funcom servers have people who have good intentions, but seem to cave to unscrupulous players or friends to keep their server count up. Ex: I played on a server for 3-4 weeks. It was going good. Clearly stated rules. Never really had an issue with any one breaking those rules.
But then a larger clan who was established on that server clearly broke those rules. They were not punished. The admin changed the rule and said that rule now falls under warning system not instant ban. Turns out the larger clan was friendly with admins, and would PVP in arena’s with them constantly. Meaning because they bonded in some fun PVP with admins, they were aloud to rewrite rules as need to keep them on them server. I am not one to tell someone how to run their server, so i quit, giving up 100+ hours of farming, one of my favorite builds in a location that was uber cool. And really was the last draw with dealing with private admins. Pushed me back to toxic officials, where at least I know what i am getting into, and Funcom is only driving to make money. And i can understand that logic.

I love that idea. I have a base with all 6 shrines and I tried getting T4s for each, but it always felt like a vanity project – like most things I’ve built. It would be nice to actually have some use for them.

That’s another thing I would love to see, but I’m sure Funcom won’t implement. They’ve stated repeatedly that they want the armor to be WYSIWYG, for PVP reasons. Of course, this can be solved by introducing an option in the game settings – opt in/out of seeing the “cosmetic” armor vs the “functional” armor, but I’m not holding my breath…

They are definitely not going to do this, because it can be abused too easily. All the restrictions they put on the “rescue” command – the cooldown, the vanishing inventory, etc. – are there to prevent abuse.

What really pіsses me off is that weird bugs pop up randomly and suddenly a spot that was perfectly fine behaves like quicksand for thralls during server reboot. I have a public map room with several dancers that were fine for months, but after the last update, two of them sink through the floor and are nowhere to be found. Even after rescuing them, they disappear the next time the server reboots :rage:

Better elevators? Yes, please! I would be content with elevators whose back end doesn’t stick out of the walls.

As for star metal… it’s not actually a building material. It’s supposed to be an in-game version of meteoric iron, only more “magical” and “mystical” and whatnot. So it’s kinda like wanting to build a steel house…

How about once you place a T4 priest it creates a special zeal compared to lower priests? You can then use that zeal to create a unique weapon, armour, potion or increase harvest rates/quicken crafting time for a set amount of time.

I’m not fussed about having extra armour or costumes added to the game. I’m sure more will come with future dlc. But I really like the idea of being able to customise armour to grant cold or heat resistance of your choice. I don’t want armour attributes to be customisable.

I don’t like this idea. Will be abused on PVP. Also, defeats the purpose of taking a risk to run a dungeon or engage the open world.

a) That would need to come about in a dlc. Unless you are thinking of being able to paint structures? I don’t think paint would suit Conan. I definately don’t want star metal to be used as a building resource, it’s against the lore.

b) I like the idea of architectural elevators. However, I’d rather they fix them before making them prettier.

I actually do understand your position. As with real life it can be hard to find a group which is impartial and not working on vested interests. And the Admin life is certainly not for every man. It actually speaks credit to your own character, as you would rather enjoy your own fun than take away from someone elses in that regard. Respect.

If it gets enough support among the PvP community I would begrudgingly accept it for PvP only. However, I will never accept it for PvE or Singleplayer as support for it is utterly non-existant among those modes. I am a firm believer in democracy, and support the majorities call in this instance. Although more generally speaking, it would be both a wise and also practical move by Funcom to set up a number of dedicated official servers for PvP, including some with fast-travel disabled.
