A suggestion to make the Offline raids less "painful"

Gaming mechanics are way more trusted than any person. Maybe I will wake up at 3 in the morning to go safely to my bank to do my transaction.
I remember playing in tough servers putting my alarm at 5 so I can go and farm for 2 hours free without danger in an empty server. It wasn’t always empty but at least it was always peaceful in these hours.
The game needs pvp for publicity and pvp needs more mechanics.

I’ve always joked that Conan Exiles is a great World War One game (explosives, poison gas, gas masks, thralls that are almost like tanks…)

I kept waiting for that to be implemented for Officials but since that appears not to be happening, I thought the small bank an easy to implement solution for a number of problems.

Be it 20 slot or 10 slots, we just need a way to make the offline raids less punishing for players. I’ve seen too many folks quit after being “wiped” or lose a war and to be honest, I’m getting close. Tired of the need to watch bases EVERY night otherwise risk losing hours and hours of work. Being able to safely store a small amount of key items would make it less punishing and easy to rebuild if you do get “wiped”.

Right now I think a large amount of players on PVP servers are scared to initiate PVP due to the fear it will just create a feud resulting in them being offline wiped (especially against larger clans).

The bank fixes far more issues than offline raiding. They’re kinda related in the context you’re focused on. But turning on DBD would be a better fix and one that is a simple text edit. They have the options but lack the feedback on what is a good setting.

For example, when they added in the feature of follower damage vs players, they asked server owners what settings would be good. And why not? Funcom owns 1,000+ servers but only has one perspective. Why not ask 1,000 owners of one server each their perspective?

Problem with DBD is many private servers have offline raiding rules and don’t necessarily use DBD because they don’t need to. Some do, but they haven’t voiced their experience. I guess Funcom should have made a thread simply asking. Personally I think they should just throw caution to the wind and turn it on and watch what happens.

How would it not??? Archers that one shot raiders would DEFINITELY make offline raiding difficult.

Truth

To OP’s point. I’ve been thinking about something similar myself. I don’t want to take away too much of the survival game feel, but being wiped OFFLINE feels TERRIBLE. I really hope they enable DBD after 2.8, otherwise offlining is going to be even more rampant. I would be fully in support of a feature that allowed players/clans to stash a certain (non-massive) amount of loot away for safekeeping, completely safe from other players that way a wipe isn’t so devastating that it causes players to quit.

I’d be happy with enough slots for one full set of epic armor, a weapon or two, 1 of each type of crafting thrall, and maybe one trained (but not deployed) fighter. Add several more slots for tools or mats as needed.

I had the same thoughts about placing the bank in Sep. The only downside that I see though is groups of “trolls” just camping that spot… Best to just have the bank somehow automatically accessible no matter where you are. That being said I’d be overjoyed to have any sort of banking system no matter where located.

The game is already pretty dead from a pvp point of view . So then making these changes might have helped a year ago. They need to make base game cheaper why onearth is it still 40 bucks when you look at ark only charging 10 dollars every other month you wonder why they have more pop

I would have suggested on official to have the dynamic building after not being on maybe 1 hour before raid time and during raid time you get 2 hours before it being protected by offline raid so people pretty much have to get off before raid give them so time to build up or people that have no time at all can play when they choose. But it will be tough that way cause clans can just not being on if they feel threatened. But if they also just listened to the community instead of doing the opposite almost 80% of the time I think they would have more people playing. Especially when they just added horses and changed the roll . From that time alone I seen almost half their pop disappear. All they needed to do was make thralls, horses, sabres not 1 shot people lol . Like literally that was the only problem in pvp at those times everything else was fine. Then now you get banned from mass lab claim protecting you? And now you can’t foundation stack ? Like what are the devs thinking LOL like I’m so confused as to what they re doing

But if you had everything, it would be too op. The idea is to give you the ability to bank fighter, builder, even farmer. You would have to choose. S9me players may bank 3 kits and like jurist being hired guns. The whole idea should bring players in so we have a varied populous, not just long day grinders

Actually I was trying to see if I could reduce the number of hypothetical slot from your 20 to something less  Honestly even if only 10 slots I would be happy – set of epic armor, T4 crafting thralls, and a weapon or tool.

Campers are campers. You cannot stop playing the game because of them. Campers on obelisk, campers on dungeon exits and now campers on banks. This is a pvp of thieves :man_shrugging:. People enjoy stealing others, what can you do about it. Pvp is pvp.
However Sepermeru is a big city and you can climb walls. And like I said, IF they are going to make a bank in this city, all the city must be pvp free.

Ah I missed the point about making it PVP free. Anyway seems like most folks think this is a good idea — how to convince the devs?

Patience. We are here to dream suggest, wish and hope.
THEY LISTEN…
BELIEVE ME…
All this time I have spent in this forum I’ve witnessed a lot of dreams come true.
But keep in mind too that we ain’t smarter than they are. This game is one of the smartest I ever played, it is a survival game that can knock down a lot of rpg games.
Making changes in the game from player wishes didn’t had always the best outcome.

For us it’s easy, if we don’t like the game we play something else.

For them it’s their neck on the guillotine, it is their professional future.

So, patience, my dear friend @Octavian and you never know
