Access denied after server crash

Hello,

Recently our server 1175 crashed, and was done for a few hours, when it came back up, it started to give me this error:

Please note that i was able to play successfully today, and i have normal access to other official servers

Hi, Same message for me on PVE UE 1156 server Offcial, I played since about 100hours, and now same message… :frowning:

I can conect on some Offcial works, other not, seem hazardous…

I reinstall the game and Now I have acces to 0 Offcial… :frowning:

Seem I am Banned… Why? BUG?

just started again a few days ago, like im lvl 30 soo nothing happened lol and have the same issue on official… weird

Same situation. Access denied to all officials, no info about suspension. I think 0 online on pvp servers says itself. Support doesnt answer. Cant play, bye bye my base.

The problem has gotten worse; yesterday I could access the other official servers, now none at all!!!

@Dana this seems like a serious issue !!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
I believe we fixed an issue yesterday where previously banned accounts could have logged into the Enhanced edition.
Now I’m not saying that all of you have been previously banned but maybe this fix impacted other accounts as well.

I’ve poked the dev team about this and as soon as I know more, I will post updates in this thread.

In the meantime, I would recommend you also submit a ticket through our help center so that our CS team look into your accounts further - Contact Us — Conan Exiles Help Center

Hello Dana,

Thank you for your quick response.

Indeed, I was banned in 2018, so it’s been quite a while… When the new U5 version was released last week, I opened a ticket requesting to be unbanned.

Then I was able to play normally for 100 hours and buy half of the DLC for the new edition, so I thought it was all in the past.

And then yesterday, I couldn’t connect…

If I understand you correctly, I was able to connect due to a bug even though I was still banned? More than 8 years ago?

Don’t you forgive players who have been banned for more than 8 years? I bought half of the DLC and played over 100 hours, what can I do now??? :frowning:

My current game on the 1156 PvE UE server is peaceful; you know, people change in 8 years… I could have made a new Steam account, but to be honest, I used my 2018 account.

Hoping to continue in this magnificent Conan universe.

Thank you.

I was banned too ofc without any reason or explain a few years ago like 4, never did anything,no avidance,no nothing, ofc i was the one who reported a few cheaters on a few official servers ,and never get any answer or nothing why got banned, and now was happy to play again ,and now this… Soo any news now from previous bann or anything cause u can read my previous reports and texts between me and other admins, and its really sad that i was the ā€œgood guyā€,and now still got banned  Hope we can figure out something about it

This is often the problem with many big games: lots of players, and lots of cheaters. It’s often difficult to know exactly who did what. Both good and bad players can get banned, which is why I think we should forgive former players for a while.

For my part, I am guilty, I admit it, it’s my fault. It happened over eight years ago, and I take responsibility, but I think I’ve made amends by now, haven’t I? People change in eight years…

Like the ancient Atlanteans, I was power-hungry, I wanted too much, and that caused my downfall… They learned the power of the Quartz and destroyed everything. I walled up the Obelisks, and then that wasn’t enough for me; I walled up the entire map! I was young…

Now I’m as old as Gandalf, I just want to play peacefully while drinking Oolong Tea…

After several years, I think we should give formerly banned players a chance.

As for the other cheaters, they just create multiple accounts anyway. A lifetime ban won’t stop them. I think Funcom knows that very well.

I have never cheated in my life on a multiplayer game. If I wanted to, I would create multiple accounts… But no, I’m here, with my 2018 account, in all honesty.

I therefore ask for leniency from FUNCOM; please allow former players who have been banned for several years to return.

There is Hope, see the Last movie Predator, he become human with emotions… Always Hope in life…

Some people I knew thought they were unbanned and spent money on the Bazaar, assuming they could play again on the officials with their accounts. How is this okay? Especially when we know the ā€œBan metaā€ was a thing and many people got banned for no reason at all, I really think this was a big mistake, just auto-rebanning everyone.

Agree. ā€œNew gameā€ -New page. I bought the dlc-s too before ,and sfter years still waiting why the hell got the bann

I like this Idea. New Game, New Page, New chance…

For remeber in 2018, rules not clear, actually it is clear!!! First page in game we have RULES! All know it! In 2018 no that…

I love games like Conan, Cyberpunk, and No Man’s Sky. They’re games of the future, games that have never been made before, and the developers take huge risks. They’re venturing into the unknown, and we support them with our money! I’ve contributed to all these games and I’ll continue to do so; they deserve it!

I’m sure it wasn’t intentional on their part to let banned players return only to ban them again! I think a lot of money is involved here!

They’re doing what they can to offer us an exceptional update, whereas Ark charges for major bugs and problems… Hats off to them! I played 100 hours with almost NO problems on my first try!

Funcom really needs to make a decision now. I, along with others, have spent money. What do we do now?

For veteran players of 8+ years like myself and others, I don’t think the ban is justified anymore…

My account was permanently suspended back near the start of the ā€œban meta.ā€ The reason was basically that I built too big. Once that happened, I was never able to get it undo or move forward from it.

Then Conan Exiles Enhanced came out, and suddenly I was unbanned. Like a lot of other people, I thought that meant we were being given a fresh start. So I came back, started playing again, and even bought stuff from the Bazaar. Now those same accounts are banned again.

My issue is that I never would have spent money in the Bazaar if I knew my account was just going to get rebanned again. I made those purchases because I thought the unban was intentional and that Enhanced was a clean slate.

So are we going to be refunded for Bazaar purchases made during the time we were unbanned? Because it feels pretty unfair to let people back in, allow them to spend money, and then ban them again afterward. I get that people have strong opinions about bans, but for players who spent money after being allowed back into the game, there really needs to be some kind of answer.

Yea mee too I building too much, rules in 2018 not clear… Now here I can read TOPIC with image for too large building, it is clear.

I appreciate that the community here is as honest as I am. We could have created a new account, because if we were really cheating, and if that was our goal, we would be using multiple accounts, but no, we are here in complete honesty.

I was a foolish kid in high school and said something inappropriate, caught a permaban for it. Years down the line and the game has a massive overhaul and so have I. I was enjoying the few days I got to play on officials. If they cant un-ban/forgive then I’d have to go support and get all the DLC I got recently refunded.

If I may give my opinion, a permaban is, I think, the developer’s last resort. It should only be used in extreme cases, for example:

  • Cheaters
They deliberately ruin the fun for everyone else, creating multiple accounts, and even if banned for life, they’ll continue because they keep creating multiple accounts. We all know that for a few euros you can get a game key these days.

  • Threats
A player who threatens another in real life should, I think, also be banned. Here, you can even file a complaint at the police station, although let’s be realistic, it won’t accomplish anything. If the police had to investigate every insult from kids in video games, that’s all they’d do all day. The majority are just threats that will lead nowhere, just frustrated players.

Furthermore, a permaban just for building a base that’s too large, or walling up a Teleporter, and maintaining it for several years, is, I think, EXTREME!!!

I think we need to learn to forgive for a while…

I don’t think FUNCOM, or any other game, benefits from doing this, since banned players will create other accounts and will sometimes be even more frustrated by being treated this way, especially if they lose money…

To be honest, FUNCOM can see past behavior and ban players again if they repeat the offense. I think that’s healthier and fairer.

Believe me, losing your base is the worst thing that can happen online! I didn’t eat for two days after I lost mine… :frowning:

FUNCOM: Aside from the extreme cases mentioned above, just implement bans that double in duration, until you lose your base. Believe me, 99% will have calmed down before losing everything!

Especially since, as already mentioned, the rules in 2018 weren’t clear. Getting an 8-year ban for walling up teleporters when it wasn’t mentioned in the rules is excessive, in my opinion. Are they going to prison? (Just kidding).

i agree that a perma ban should be given only to someone using cheat or hack, or using the buiilding in a clear malicious way like building to enclose other player several time, or to prevent other to play; to build a wall in noob area restricting acces to the map, or spamming fondations all ower the map (those two offend are pretty easy to recognize), but problem is what we never had skill admin understanding the game, because they hire people that dont play, and so dont understand the game. so in reality ban were given also to players for just building a base able to give some probability to survive knowing that funcom decided to make base made of paper wall.

i really saw bad things happened on admin side, like a whole pvp server reporting a gang of hacker, and a admin checked and had temp ban & wiped all legit players for their building (who were done to try resist to cheaters and hackers), it was huge base, but nothing crazy when you know how easy it is to open or wipe a base in pvp mode. and what the admin let intact was the clan of hackers. because he has not found their skybase, that i found 2 weeks later. they were the only players left on the server. hard to believe, but it’s what i saw. was in the first day were they started to put active admin, clearly totally unskill. anyways a base building should never lead to permanent ban, erasing a base is more than enough in those cases.

but someone using cheat or hack, yes that it should be perma ban (because that is what is ruining all the online gameplay)

That’s the whole problem; a server conflict can unfold over hundreds of hours. Admins come along and aren’t going to read 50 hours of dialogue. They have other things to do, and that’s understandable.

I’ve seen players wall off teleporters just to protect them from other players. An admin can then come along and ban them, thinking they’re the wrong person.

That’s why I think we shouldn’t use permabans! There’s too much risk of banning honest people, or people who simply don’t know the rules, which, as a reminder, were unclear back in 2018 when I was playing!

A wall is problem? just delete… Players do again? Just ban him some day…
